Even with Harry Potter warning Cedric about the task beforehand, Cedric was quite nervous. Even more so than before knowing that it would involve such beasts. Chantal had hung around Cedric since morning to keep him at ease, held his hand, and kissed him a lot more than she had previously. She saw how it calmed him down, even just for a little while.
''I feel awful about all the badges about Potter...'' Cedric quietly said as they paced around. ''he told me about the task and I'm still letting them walk around like that.''
''I agree. Maybe after Harry does well, they'll take it down,'' Chantal replied.
''So you're rooting for him?'' Cedric sort of laughed.
''Of course, I'm rooting for you, but I can't help but feel bad for him. With everything that's happened... he deserves a break. And THIS-'' Chantal said, pointing to the Quidditch Stadium. ''is definitely NOT a break from it all.''
''Ahhh, I do agree with you. He's only fourteen and has gone through a lot. Well, I can promise you that if the time comes, I won't hesitate to help him,''
''You just keep yourself safe...''
''I'll try very hard,''
Chantal didn't hear much after Cedric had gone in the tent with Harry, Victor, and Fleur. She didn't think of listening in too. She knew damn well that if she'd hear either Bagman or McGonagall say something about the dangers of the task, she'd become too scared to watch. So Chantal trekked to find her friends at the agreed place in the stadium.
''He's been staring and following me around so much, Vic. It's getting out of hand,'' Dina whispered to Victoria.
