Chantal's eyes sprung open at nothing whatsoever, however, her head felt heavy, like she had slept for five days straight. She expected to see the ceiling of the entrance in her house but faced an unfamiliar view.

She kept still, trying to figure out the place. Although the sight wasn't frightening, chills overtook her body as she realized that she had no idea where she was lying.

Chantal sprung up and looked around the room. It appeared to be a small regular room, not anything scary in particular. She automatically reached for her wand in her pocket but realized that it was empty. She jumped out of bed and looked on the bed. She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair.

Chantal tried to contain a scream that needed to be let out. Her long wavy hair had been cut.

She ran across the room, trying to find a mirror. However, at that moment, she felt something strange in her body.

She contained another scream trying to escape. She let her fingers glide through her body and survey the fact that she did not have the characteristics she had had for fifteen years.

Not thinking about the sound leaving the wooden floor from her running, she dashed across the room. Chantal looked at the closet and opened the door. She faced a mirror.

In front of her, stood someone she had never met. She was not Chantal anymore, as her normal figure had been replaced by a boy's one.

She stepped closer to the mirror, looking clearly into it. Chantal recognized the same pair of brown eyes staring at her, as well as the cheekbones that cut her face. She blinked, observing her body and lifting her shirt. Her feminine figure was gone too. Instead, a slightly thin and not too muscular guy's torso reflected in the mirror.

Chantal began to wonder if she had died if what she was seeing was some sort of task or vision, whether what had happened before had turned her into what she was right now.

Naturally, she quickly opened her jeans, stared, and put them back on as quickly. However, she was more petrified by the similar structure of her face, how she could almost recognize her previous look. Chantal forced a smile, trying to see whether her regular smile would have resembled. She was not let down.

Chantal told herself that whatever had happened to her was not the biggest threat. She closed the door, deciding to scavenge around the room for whatever she could find useful. She didn't have her wand, however, figuring out her environment was her next idea.

The small window shone a light on the desk where several books and papers were laid out. Although Chantal was not an expert on sixth-year coursebooks at Hogwarts, they seemed familiar to her. She remembered seeing some of them with Cedric and Nathaniel. However, she knew well that she had never bought supplies for the next year and all the materials lying around did not belong to her. The papers had scribbles on them, all in handwriting unfamiliar to Chantal. Chantal decided to leave the desk be and look at the closet.

The closet wasn't the biggest and Chantal was faced with several plaid shirts hung chaotically and sneakers were thrown at the bottom of the closet. Not necessarily impressed or frightened by the wardrobe, she doubted she would find anything interesting there. Before closing it, of course, she took another glance at herself.

As she placed her hand on her face, she noticed another familiar reflection in the mirror. She immediately looked at her hand, specifically her right hand's fourth finger. She kissed Cedric's ring, thanking whoever that it was still with her.

The view outside the window caught her attention next. Now Chantal was sure that she was in someone else's room, as the sight outside was completely different than the usual one from her house.

What seemed to be a busy town with groups of muggle-looking people wandering around, buildings standing in all sorts of colors and heights, and several small shops stationed on the first floor of those buildings impressed Chantal, as the last time she had seen the world had been on the floor of the entrance to her house in Hatfield. She concluded that it was not Hatfield in front of her.

She also figured that she must have been staring out the window of at least a three or four-story building, although the three-story option seemed more believable. Therefore, she decided not to jump out and run away.

Chantal turned around and walked over to the bed where she had woken up. However, after checking under the pillows, the blanket, and even under the bed itself, she could not find her wand.

The only other item unexplored in the room was the door. Chantal feared what was behind it, whether she was being tricked by whoever had attacked her, and what would happen if she decided to leave. She walked over to the door, not before grabbing a massive book from her desk. Chantal told herself that she could use it as a weapon.

Quietly, she opened the door and looked outside. A simple hallway, dim-lit, and narrow lead two ways. Chantal noticed another door just like the one she was about to leave, and a staircase that led down. Although the other door appeared interesting, the small noises coming from downstairs distracted her and she thought of them as dangerous.

She kept the door open, gripped her book tighter, and approached the stairs. She noticed another door, a sturdier one this time. She figured it was the entrance door and immediately thought of an escape. However, the image of her parents came to mind.

As Chantal had feared, the stairs were wooden, and before every step she took, she hoped it would not make a shriek. Only some of them made a noise, but the noises coming, as Chantal understood now, from the right side, were louder than the ones from her steps. When there were only two steps left on the stairs, Chantal turned her head to the sides.

She could see a room somewhat resembling a living room on the left side and a kitchen on the right. Horrible ideas about her parents and whoever was in the kitchen rose into mind.

She took the last steps, ducking down. She walked behind a wall, hoping to see something by looking around the corner.

''Sebastian, please tell him to come inside. I'm almost done making lunch,'' a woman spoke, as Chantal was about to peak in the kitchen.

Chantal stood still, getting the book in her hands ready.

''Fine... please?'' the same voice asked again.

As the voice seemed polite enough, Chantal jumped from behind the wall and dashed inside the kitchen.

The woman shrieked but stood in the same spot by the table. Although Chantal had managed to frighten the woman, she did not seem either afraid or annoyed.
