Nova whipped around to stare at him for a moment.
And sure enough, there he was. On one knee, holding out a glittering diamond ring.
"Yes?" Nova blurted out.

"Really?" Ethan said, his eyes gleaming.
"I-uh, I mean," Nova stammered.

"You're what?" Everyone shouted at her in unison.
She was really regretting her actions. Especially right now, when she was showing Jasmine, Jade, Mason, Asher and Alex the diamond on her hand.
"Yep!" Nova said in fake optimism.
"And you're sure that actually happened?" Alex asked in disbelief.
"Aren't you guys like, ten?" Mason said as she glared at him.
"Yes and no," Nova answered their questions.
Everyone was silent for a few moments.
"Yay," Jade said fake voice.
"Congrats," Mason said.
"Are you an idiot?" Jasmine yelled.
"I didn't mean to, okay?" Nova said finally.
"Go ahead! Say your actual opinions."
"What the hell were you thinking?" Mason accused.
"Why would you say that?" Jade scolded.
"You shouldn't have said yes," Asher said matter-of-factly.
Nova sighed, frustrated. "Great! Anybody else?"
"The ring is a bit big," Jasmine told her.
She glared at her, sighed, and left the room. She needed fresh air. She didn't even get far when Jade was already behind her.
"Did you come to tell me how I was wrong?" Nova asked her as they continued walking.
"Pretty much," Jade said.
"And you're going to have to tell Elliot no."
"You're right, I don't really want to marry him," Nova mumbled.
"I mean I do. Well I don't. I don't want to marry him now," Nova said.
"No kidding, you aren't even dating, may I remind you," Jade said sarcastically.
"Besides, there are many more reasons why you should say no," Jade said.
Nova opened the front door to the palace. "Really? Like what?"
As soon as they opened the door, hundreds of people came alive in front of the palace. There were adults, children, teenagers, even babies. They all were yelling, cheering, waving ribbons in the air.
"Like that," Jade yelled over their screams.
"Why are they here?" Nova screamed.
"Have you forgotten you're the princess? If you get married, basically the entire moon celebrates!"
Nova groaned, crying internally.
