Part 21 - The Replay

As I walked out the sports hall, my mind was swimming with what Boggy had just explained. A replay of the semis? A new chance at the final?

But Jack still wasn't back.

I wandered down the corridors with Jamie - the place was deserted as there were no after-school clubs on.

"So..." I said awkwardly; it was clear Jamie was still thinking about Jack.

"So..." he replied nervously as we reached the doors to the school and we would have to go out separate ways. Before leaving, his face turned serious. "Michel knows about us." He said, grabbing my hand.

My voice went low. "What? How?"

"He guessed." Jamie replied with a worried look.

"If it's that easy to guess then...?"

"Relax, no one else knows." But his voice wavered.

"Jamie...?"

He sighed. "Michel also says that Jack has her suspicions."

"Seriously?" I said in disbelief, and took a deep breath.

Jamie's face turned anxious. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Bella, you need to tell me what happened with you and Jethro." He said, anxiously.

"Nothing happened." I replied with a forced smile.

"Fine." He replied, but I could tell he didn't believe me.

JAMIE'S POV

Me and Bella sat on the outside stairs that led to the art block the next day when I saw her: Jack. She jogged over to us and sat down, staring straight ahead.

"Did you see him?" Bella asked quietly, compassion in her voice.

"No." she said, shaking her head.

"He came for you." I said.

"What?"

"Michel. He stopped off on the way to the airport." I paused as her reaction turned from surprise to pure frustration for missing him. "He told me to give you this." I took out the golden chain from my pocket and handed it to her. "He said he hopes it brings you more luck than it ever did him."

She said nothing, just stared at the chain in her hand, looking like she might cry.

"You really liked him didn't you?" Bella said with a sad smile.

"Yeah." She said with a forced laugh. "I suppose I did. I do."

"Yeah." Bella said with a sigh.

There was a loud silence for a while, before Bella spoke up again. "Well, at least we have the semis now." she said with a smirk and walked off, leaving a puzzled Jack behind.

"What?"

"The replay of course." Bella said with an even bigger grin.

Jack's eyes widened. "No way."
