A/N: Sorry! Chapter's a bit late but I am trying so hard to keep on top of my update schedule so here it is!

As the whistle blew in the distance, I swore under my breath and began running towards the pitches, hearing Zoe's footsteps behind me, signaling that she was following.

"And where do you think you've been?" Hansard said, as I ran up to him panting for breath.

"I went to get Jamie, Sir! You said I could!" I explained.

But he just chuckled to himself. "So where is he then?"

"I couldn't find him! But you can still play me! Please." I pleaded with him.

"Missed your chance." He replied bluntly.

"Sir!" I said again.

"Why are you still here?"

I rolled my eyes and sat on the bench aggressively.

"He'll never miss a chance to not play me." I grumbled, propping my chin up with my hands.

"I'm sure that's not true." Zoe replied, but even she didn't seem convinced - after all, she had got rejected from the team as well.

I sighed. "Maybe not."

Towards the end of the second half, I was praying for a couple of late goals, but Thornlake had most possession...and had scored twice. There was no way back into it.

Suddenly. I glimpsed a figure emerge from the trees that surrounded the pitch. Jamie. I could only catch a few words of him and Hansard's conversation before the whistle blew to signal the end of the game. That was it. We were out of the cup.

As I was walking back after the game, I could hear voices on the path ahead, but tried to ignore them. It was only when I saw it was Jamie and Jack did I take notice.

"They've offered me a six month trial!" I heard Jamie say.

"Good for you." Jack replied, nearly shouting. "But now the rest of us have nowhere to play!"

"What do you mean?!"

"Savage only secured the pitches whilst we were still in the cup. Now we've been knocked out, they're going ahead with the temporary classrooms."

"What?!" Jamie exclaimed. "They can't do that!"

"Go ask them yourself if you don't believe me." She replied, throwing her captain's arm bound to the ground before turning back in the direction of the pitches, probably to find Boggy, I guessed.

I followed Jamie for a little while down the path, waiting for a moment to catch him alone, thinking of ways to introduce myself into the scene. I thought over the 'oh I wasn't expecting to see you here' scenario, but decided against it. Instead, I guess fate had something else in store when I tripped on a low branch of a tree, making a loud thud and causing Jamie to turn around.

"Bella?"

I shot up quickly, looked the other way and swore again but then turned to face Jamie with a fake smile on my face. "Jamie!" I said. "I wasn't expecting to see you here!" Oh damn it.

"I'm just walking home." He said, taking a sip of water from his bottle then starting to slowly walk forwards. I practically sprinted to catch up and then found myself going way to far forward and my feet made a horrible sound on the concrete when I tried to brake. "What a coincidence! I'm walking home to!" I said, shaking my head in pretend amazement.

"Bella, we live in the same direction." He said bluntly.

"Oh. Right." I said awkwardly. Something about Jamie was different, but then again, it always was when Jack was involved - like that time she went with Michel to the game and Jamie got jealous.

"Soooo, what were you and Jack arguing about?" I asked.

"Nothin."

"Really...?"

He sighed. "She thinks it's my fault we lost the game."

"Oh, by the way, I came to try and find you at Foxborough, but I bumped into somebody else instead." I said with a side grin and pulled out my phone to show him the picture I took with Theo Baines.

Jamie's eyes widened in shock as his gaze set on the picture. "What? How?!"

I laughed. "I dunno. I'll send it to you." I said, my fingers clicking fast on my phone to find his contact. "You can crop me out of it if you want." I said, eyeing how awkward I looked in the picture.

"Why would I want to do that?" Jamie said, and I bit my lip. Did Jamie still...? No.

"Ok, um, I'm gonna go the long way home..." I said hurriedly, pointing towards the direction of the way that took about half an hour longer but also went past the corner shop. "I've got to get some...milk for my mum." I said, shrugging.

He smiled. "See you later then."
