Karn suddenly woke up with a jerk, breathing heavily, face pale and sweat beads formed on his forehead. Suchitra, who was doing her work, came and sat beside him.
Suchitra :- You okay arya ? Did you see a bad dream ?
Karn :- (panting) Ya.... it was..... a..... terrible one.
Suchitra :- First you calm down, (giving him some water) here, have some water and take a few deep breaths.
She rubbed his back as he drank the water, he wiped the sweat off his face and felt a little relieved.
Karn :- Thanks.
She smiled. He looked out from door to notice that there was still some time left for sunrise.
Suchitra :- Will you not go for your morning prayer today.

Karn :- Thinking of that only.
He grabbed his things and went out. Weather was a pleasant one, birds chirped, trees swayed in soothing breeze, sound of flowing water added music to surroundings, as if nature too wanted to enjoy the calmness.
He practiced for sometime as usual and proceeded for his bath, which was followed by morning prayer.
When returned, he saw his guru waiting for him, he was confused as his guru used to call him near the temple of lord Shiva, where he was taught.

He went and touched Parsuram's feet.
Parsuram :- Ayushman bhava putra. Do you know why I came here ?
Karn :- No.
Parsuram :- (little angry) You really don't know ?
Karn :- (nervous) No gurudev, I.... don't think so.
Parsuram raised his hand, Karn closed his eyes shut guessing a slap, but next moment he felt a hand patting his head, he opened his eyes slowly.
