THE AFTERNOON BREEZE BLEW

through Dainsleif's soft blonde hair as he continued up the tall hills of Liyue. He passed cliff-sides, tall mountains and rock formation tops in search for the most beautiful Qingxin flowers.

The world was quiet and peaceful whilst he approached the top of the hill, eyes landing upon fresh Qingxin that bloomed radiantly amongst the short and lush grass.

His hand raised up to shield his aqua orbs from the rising sun. "Ah, she would've loved this view." Dainsleif whispered, a relaxed smile growing on his lips when he thought of his wife's smile.

He then knelt down to gather one Qingxin flower after another and gently ran his thumb over the ends of the petals, feeling the smooth flora between his gloved fingers.

When he was satisfied with the amount he had gathered, Dainsleif brought the flowers to his nose and inhaled the sweet scent of Qingxin, subtlety reminding him of his lover's hair.

And boy did it certainly surprise him that her favorite flower was so much like her. Like the way it stood brightly atop of hills, beaming with pride and radiant beauty, as well as its fragrant scent and delicate petals to which was as soft as her (s/c) skin.

Finally after one final look at the beautiful view Liyue had to offer, Dainsleif headed down the steep hill to return home.

An hour or two later, Dainsleif spotted the humble cottage that had a small garden in which his wife would grow an assortment of blueberries, strawberries and rasberries — plants she took great pride in growing.

A small sigh then managed to escape Dainsleif's nose when he paused to look at the heart-shaped stone path his wife asked him to put down while she prepared dinner not too long ago.

She was without a doubt picky with the arrangement of the stones and would often look through the window to check if her husband did it exactly the way she asked, which he did of course. Dainsleif was not one to upset his darling wife.

He continued up the path of heart-shaped stones until he reached the wooden door of the small cottage with the feint smell of pie filling his nostrils. Comfort immediately washed over his shoulders as he tapped the tips of his shoes to remove any dirt.

"Ah.. finally home." Dainsleif hummed, clenching the bouquet of Qingxin flowers in his hand before unlocking the door and making his way inside.

The house was quiet and not too large in size, but it smelt of blueberry pie — his wife's specialty and his all time favorite.

Dainsleif  certainly enjoyed his wife's cooking and quickly threw his mask and coat onto the couch before making a beeline straight for the bedroom with fresh Qingxin flowers in hand.

When he reached the door, he ran a hand through his hair before twisting the doorknob, the sound of the lock clicking catching his lover's attention.

"Dain!" she giggled upon noticing his tall stature duck slightly just to enter though the doorway whilst she shut the book she was previously reading, and setting it down beside her.

"You're finally back."

Dainsleif smiled lovingly at her — eyes trailing over her pink dress and graceful lashes, and of course her noticeably round belly.

"Hello, my darling, (Y/n)." Dainsleif spoke, walking to her side of the bed and sitting by her legs.

Nothing was said between the two as his careful hand fell upon her swollen belly and leaning down to capture her lips in a kiss.

His wife's lashes fell closed and as did his before separating. But her eyes remained closed for a short moment afterward, simply entranced by her loving husband's kisses and featherlight touch.

His wife let out a small giggle when Dainsleif kissed the corner of her lip, his thumb caressing over her belly until a soft kick caused him to pull away.

"Did you feel that?" She gasped, placing her hand on top of his. "Did you feel the baby kick, dear?"

Dainsleif nodded "yes I did.. how wonderful." He grinned and bent down to kiss the stomach of his wife as if kissing the child his wife bore.

"He's going to be so beautiful, I just know it! And we're going to meet him very soon, Dain!" She cheered.

But before anything else could be said, Dainsleif revealed to her the Qingxin flowers. "These are for you and the baby." He told her, and she smiled, taking the bouquet and pressing multiple butterfly kisses onto his cheeks, causing Dainsleif to chuckle softly.

"Thank you so much.." (Y/n) whispered "they're absolutely perfect."

And so Dainsleif took her hand and kisses atop it, showing how much he cared for his wife and soon to be mother of his first child.

(Y/n) couldn't help but feel warm as his unmistakably gorgeous eyes looking into her own, reminding her of how careful he was upon learning of her pregnancy.

But that didn't mean he wasn't before; Dainsleif was always so tender for her and handled everything with such patience and unconditional love which continued to grow throughout their relationship.

And soon, his child would be born and he would teach him all he knew and of course, protect his family from any harm.

Life just couldn't get any better for Dainsleif, even after everything he had gone through.

But now life was nothing but clear skies, the smell of freshly baked blueberry pies and gathering Qingxin flowers for his wife.
