IT WAS A CRISP MORNING
and the sky was a deep, hazy shade of blue when you stirred yourself awake. You rubbed your tired eyes before turning over on your side to spot your mischievous boyfriend, Childe sleeping soundly next to you.
His hair was tousled and his lips parted slightly. He looked so adorable and calm in his sleep, bringing a shy smile to your lips. You scooted closer to him so that your faces were mere inches apart. His long lashes and bangs made him look just like a prince.
You didn't need to be awake for another three hours so you decided to close your eyes and fall back asleep until you felt Childe's arm snake around your waist. The sudden contact of his cold touch sent shivers down your spine. "Good morning, princess.." he murmured with his eyes still closed.
With a soft giggle, you brought yourself closer to him. "Good morning, Childe."
He had somehow managed to wrap both his arms around you, his chin resting at the top of your head. You couldn't help but melt at the sound of his heartbeat thumping close to your ear, and the feeling of his arms wrapped around you made you feel so safe and so loved.
"Let's go back to sleep.." he added and you happily obliged.
Two hours later, you managed to shake yourself awake. It was time to make some breakfast and head on to whatever duties you had for that day. Childe however, was still very much asleep and not wishing to wake him up, you carefully slipped out of his grasp. The moment you left his arms, his eyebrows furrowed and his arms had patted the empty space of the bed, searching for his 'pillow'.
His eyes peeled open to see you sitting on the other side of the bed with a sheepish smile. "It's too cold! Come back!" He ordered, spreading his arms wide open for you to hop into but to his disappointment, you shook your head.
"I have to go make us some breakfast, I know how hungry you get in the mornings." You finished with a soft chuckle which was music to Childe's ears.
"No, I'm not hungry." He closed his eyes once more but then a loud grumble could be heard from his stomach. "Right.." you rolled your eyes playfully before finally getting out of the comfy sheets of your bed.
"You can stay here while I go make breakfast okay?"
Childe sat up from bed and ran a hand through his hair, followed by one of his cheeky grins. He had definitely something in mind. "C-Childe?" You raised a brow and in the blink of an eye, he had pounced toward you to wrap his slender arms around your waist and throw the both of you back on the bed.
"Let's just stay here a little longer, princess~" he cooed in your ear. Now you really couldn't say anything about it. "O-okay" you felt heat rise to your cheeks as he nuzzled in your hair and pressing you onto him more. A soft puff of air left his nose as he relished in your body heat.
Your eyelids became heavy and not long after, you had fallen asleep. Childe had remained awake though, but before he'd shut his eyes, he looked at your calm expression. He felt himself blush as he continued to stare, a hand raising up to cover his mouth. "How could someone be so beautiful.." he murmured behind his hand.
He then pressed a soft kiss to your temple, he was extremely happy to have you and be able to simply cuddle in bed and fall asleep.
