"Oh, honey! If I would have known Fabio was a perv, I would have never—"

I barely listen to Gail as my mind still wanders on Tyler's test results. I've been so anxious lately, I can barely eat.

Gail stops speaking and she notices my silence with furrowed brows. "Honey? Is everything alright?"

"Hm?" I'm slapped back to reality as I look up at Gail. "What did you say?"

"Oh, sweetie..." She sits in front of me with a soft expression as she takes my hands. "I know you must be so shaken up." I furrow my brows with confusion. Gail raises her brows and says, "From Fabio's attack."

"Oh. No. That's not..." My mind takes me back to Tyler and my heart shivers.

Gail now carries curiosity as she says, "What's got you so thoughtful lately?"

I let out a tired sigh and look into her shiny eyes. "It's Tyler—"

Gail gasps. "Did he do something?!"

"No! It's not what you think. He's...he's amazing. But on the night of Fabio's attack, we went to the hospital, remember?" Gail nods. "The doctor did some extra tests just to be sure everything was okay and they noticed something abnormal in his blood."

"Oh?"

"Yes. And they did other tests. What was it? CT scan I think? Something like that."

Gail now has her gentle firmness as she asks, "And what were the results?"

"I don't know," I say. "They said they were going to call." My heart begins to shiver again as my mind haunts me with fearful imagination. "What if...what if something is wrong, Gail?" I hold back tears as Gail shakes her head.

"No, honey. You can't think like that. You have to be positive. How's Tyler?"

"He's...happy still. I don't see a hint of fear in him. Like it never happened. How is he so sure?"

Gail's eyes shine with the answer, but she decides to stay quiet and give me a soft smile. "Maybe it's nothing. Sometimes they don't call if there's nothing there. When was this? Two days ago?"

I nod. "They said they found abnormal levels of anemia."

"Oh, honey!" Gail says with a more playful tone. "Then you better fix up his diet! That's your job as a wife!"

I laugh at this as my heart takes a small breath. "You're right. I'm gonna search up what helps with anemia."

"And don't forget to do your part in the law firm event."

"Yes! I'll do it before searching for a solution."

"That's my girl!" Gail stands to get a cup of coffee from my counter and playfully whispers, "Now I'm gonna steal this from you!"

With a chuckle, I get back to work and hear her leave my office.

The rest of the day drags on as my mind runs with doubts. Fears keep distracting me from my actual work. My stomach has to slap me out of my worry at one point as it growls at a recipe I've been reading to help anemia.

I quickly write down the different foods listed and grab a quick sandwich at the small cafe on the first floor. I suddenly notice eyes on me as I pass through the hallways. I give people polite smiles and nods, but their stares still burn at me.

I approach the counter with a sigh. "Hello. I would like a veggie panini please."

The cashier gasps when she sees me. "Oh my god. You're the girl that got attacked outside, right?"
