I sat at my kitchen table, staring between Lucian and Kieran. My lips were pursed and my fingers were linked together on the table like I was about to be reprimanded and I wanted to show them they had nothing to reprimand me for. Kyler found it amusing as all hell, if the little quirk of his lip was any indication the last time I glanced in his direction.

Lucian and Kieran were both speaking to one another, and Kyler chimed in on occasion with his thoughts. They were working together on another plan to find their people, and I was sitting there twiddling my thumbs for...what?

Was my house a safe meeting ground for the two of them? I know they didn't expect me to get in on their conversation, which was why I was completely tuning them out and thinking mainly about the pain in my thighs, back, abs, arms, and lastly, the burn in my vagina and ass.

While neither of them entered my ass - thank whatever was listening because if fingers hurt, they would hurt one thousand times worse - I came into the understanding that Kyler really enjoyed ass play.

And I was warming up to it.

I glanced at Keiran, remembering what he said about liking anal. His eyes flicked to meet mine and I did that awkward "I wasn't thinking about a damn thing" smile, and looked away.

No thoughts. Head empty.

"You're quiet," Kieran said.

Captain obvious, everyone.

"I'm exhausted," I replied.

It wasn't a lie. Their so-called extensive training lasted as long as my body allowed - which meant until I literally passed out. I could honestly say that had never happened before.

Kieran's lip curled up, but thankfully he didn't say anything on the matter. He had to have known, and by the looks of it, he didn't mind it either. Maybe their pissing game was over and done with.

One could hope.

"No news from the other side?" Kieran waved his finger around in the air like one of them would be standing right in front of me and I wouldn't have said anything.

"I wouldn't just be sitting here listening to you talk if there was someone here," I said. "Plus, chances are, if yours has been killed, she wouldn't stay here. Vampires usually don't."

He raised an eyebrow. "Feeling a little spunky over there, huh?"

I mimicked him, raising my right eyebrow and crossing my arms.

'Brat,' he thought to me before turning to Kyler.

Up yours, I thought, flicking him off under the table because I could.

He glanced back at me, and I did that stupid smile thing again that told him I one hundred percent did something he should be questioning. I didn't think he could read my mind.

"In terms of Nova," Kieran finally said, "I think I have a way to use her in this."

Kyler already looked completely unimpressed while I was just happy they were suddenly including me.

"This has gone on long enough, I feel." Kieran looked to Lucian for his agreement. "Neither of us are finding anything out on the location of our people. As of now, Selene is still alive, and I'm under the assumption that Jason is too since you're still searching for the ones that kidnapped them."

Lucian suddenly looked uncomfortable. "Your point?"

"What is Nova good at," Kieran asked.

What was I good at? I liked to believe I was good at a lot. But in regards to this...raising the dead? Mimicking their fighting styles - though I couldn't see how that would help unless a whole ass child decided to attack me. If a grown adult tried to attack me, I'd simply just lie down and accept my fate.

Maybe.

"Depends on the situation," Lucian replied carefully.

"Mimicking," Kieran said, confirming my earlier thought. He looked at me. "All vampires have special powers of some sort - half or not. Seems like Nova's is mimicking. It isn't just fighting. It's any movement. Any skill. I've been testing you the entire time I've been here. You subconsciously move to mimic how the person you're paying attention to is sitting. Or their reactions."

Kyler and Lucian looked at each other, then to me.

"What does that have to do with anything," I asked.

"When we get a general area of where they might be located," Kieran smiled slightly, "instead of any of us going to search, it'll be you."

"Over my dead body," Lucian said automatically.

Kyler nodded in agreement with his alpha as he reached out and pulled my chair closer to his. Like that would stop Kieran from doing anything if he wanted to do it.

"Hear me out." Kieran held up a hand to stop whatever he thought Lucian or Kyler would do. "I don't want her to get hurt either, but keep in mind that she is a half vampire. Her body can be completely broken and heal itself with just a little bit of blood ingested. While I won't allow it to come to that, just remember what she is. She isn't like you. It seems you forget that sometimes."

I honestly didn't believe Lucian forgot what I was. Not at first. But when I looked at him as Kieran spoke, it seemed that maybe sometimes he did. If I was fully accepting of that side of me, that probably would have gotten on my nerves. But I still didn't like the fact that I was part vampire.

"What's your plan to use that power?" Lucian seemed ticked. Was it because he was called out?

Kieran finally tore his eyes away from the wolves to look at me. "I need to test something with you, but it will hurt. A lot."

Kyler opened his mouth to say something, but Kieran shot him a look to shut him up.

I could deal with pain. Like he said, I could heal most anything relatively fast with blood. I didn't like pain, but it came with the territory of being a necromancer, having to mutilate myself to raise dead bodies.

I shrugged. "Okay."

"I'm going to have Mateo come here," he said. "I'd rather you do this with him, instead of with me."

I grimaced at the idea of having Mateo anywhere near me after what he did.

"You're going to do exactly what he does to you," Kieran said, his lip curling. "But we're not going to tell him that."

I finally got the idea. Mateo was going to come to my house with Kieran's permission to hurt me. The thing he didn't know was that I was going to hurt him right back. That is, if my ability to mimic was as good as Kieran believed it to be.

So if Mateo harbored as much hatred as I thought he did, and I was as good as Kieran believed, Mateo was screwed.
