It didn't fucking matter if I healed quickly or not. The man was an animal - which I knew, of course. But hell, how can a man have six hours worth of stamina? I lost count how many times he slid back into me, and how many times I came. I couldn't move.

I had four hours before I had to be at the morgue, and I was too busy lying naked in bed with my eyes on the ceiling like I'd been hit by a truck that came out of nowhere.

"What the fuck are you," I asked when Lucian came in to my room, walking perfectly fine, with a cup of coffee in his hand.

He set the cup down and knelt by the bed, grinning. "An alpha wolf."

My entire freaking body hurt, and he was walking around like an incubus who just got his fill for the next year.

Never again. Ever. I'd die if I went another six hours with that man.

"Grab the coffee," he said.

I reached out and grabbed it, and the moment I had it in my hand, he picked me up and carried me to my bathroom. He sat me down on the edge of my tub and turned the hot water on, then left the bathroom. When he came back, he had a bottle of eucalyptus bubble bath in his hand.

I stared at it pointedly as he poured some in the filling tub.

"Kyler brought it," he answered.

My eyes shot up to his face, and he had a small smile tilting his lips. He asked Kyler to get bubble bath? He had to be joking.

"Eucalyptus is good for healing," he said, his eyes on the rising water.

"Yes," I said. "I know that. But Kyler?"

He smiled slightly, glancing over at me. "Kyler, yes. He's also the one who made you the coffee you aren't drinking."

Which meant he was more than likely still in my house. Which also meant he probably knew exactly why I needed the bubble bath to begin with. Wereanimals had a pretty keen sense of smell, so if he was anywhere near Lucian - which he had to have been - he would have smelled me on him.

I took a sip of the steaming coffee as Lucian reached around me and turned the faucet off. Then he stood, picked me up, then sat me down into the hot water.

I shivered, the feeling of the hot water on my cool skin like a shock. But the longer I sat there, the more I relaxed into the heat. It felt good, especially with the scent of eucalyptus permeating from the water. It soothed some of the aches automatically, and I closed my eyes as I rested back against the tub.

"Are you planning on staying again tonight," I asked, peeking one eye open.

He sat on the edge of the tub. "Either that or Kyler will. I just want to make sure you're not being watched. After I confirm that, then you can have your house to yourself again."

I hummed and held my coffee to my chest. His eyes were on the door, watching like he expected someone to burst in at any moment. I had to admit, I liked the fact that he was being careful. The threat didn't frighten me as much as it probably should have, but it was nice that someone was taking extra precautions.

"Unless," his eyebrows raised and he tilted his head, "you'd like both of us to stay."

Even though he wasn't looking at me, I narrowed my eyes. "No."

He turned and grinned down at me. "I have a feeling you'll change your mind sooner or later."

He could feel whatever he wanted. If I could barely handle him, how the hell did he expect me to handle another wolf just below him? I'd legitimately die.

I just shook my head, drinking the remainder of my coffee. "I cannot fathom how anyone can last that long."

He shrugged, but it didn't look like he was all too concerned with it. If that was normal for him, Lord save the next woman who slept with him.

"Keep in mind, Nova," he grabbed the empty cup from me and set it on the floor next to the tub, "you didn't tell me to stop. If I remember correctly, you told me to keep going every single time."

To dunk my head underwater and see if I could make myself drown, or act like what he said wasn't true? The choice was so difficult. My awkward flight senses were telling me to drown myself for giggles.

Lucian ruffled my hair gently and stood. "I'll be right back."

Perfect. Giving me the chance to kill myself in solidarity. He truly was a gentleman.

He came back not too long later with one of my white towels folded in his hands. He reached down and unplugged the drain, then opened the towel for me to get up and step into.

When I stood and stepped into the towel, I realized that he didn't just get me a new towel. He also put it through the dryer so it would be warm when I put it around me.

He smiled gently. "At least you can stand now."

I narrowed my eyes. "Watch it, or I'll bite you."

"Bite me and I'll take you back to that bed," he threatened. "And Kyler will hear every little moan you make."

I slapped his chest and turned away from him, my cheeks heating. While I had men talk dirty to me before, but it never seemed like they were serious. For some reason, I didn't doubt for a second Lucian would take me back to bed and let Kyler hear everything.

I changed quickly, wholly aware of Lucian's eyes on me as I changed. His lips tilted up when he saw the shirt I was wearing - one that he purchased for me.

"I'm hungry," I said, straightening the shirt. "Someone kept me busy through breakfast and lunch."

One eyebrow raised, then he grinned a grin so full of boyish glee that I had to turn away before I did something I'd regret.
