Pretend

"Hey," Wanda said softly careful not to startle Y/n as she came out of the building an walking over to her.

"Hi," She watched as Wanda made her way over taking the open space next to her. It was quiet, the two didn't say a word.

Both just watching the grass move side to side, listening to the cars in the distance taking off when the lights changed from red to green. It said like that for until Wanda decided to speak up.

"Thank you. For the blanket." Wanda said looking down at her hands messing with her rings. Y/n looked over at Wanda wondering how she knew it was her but before she could ask Wanda looked up seeing the expression on Y/n's face so she explained more. "I knew you were up. I saw the lights on in the lab...If it wasn't you then it was Nat."

"Oh. Yeah." Y/n said turning her attention back to the front gate waiting for it to open. However Wanda didn't take her eyes off Y/n, she saw Y/n had a barrier she held up around the team part of her wanted to know what was behind it, more importantly who. Possibly being the one who covered her in her favorite blanket last night.

"Are you waiting for Morgan?" Wanda asked, Y/n smiled holding her head up with the palm of hand as her elbow rested on her knee. She nodded her head then turned to Wanda.

"I haven't been a part in her life. It's about time." Y/n turned back to looking pass the parking lot to the gate. "Part of me has to thank you though." Wanda tilted her head slightly showing she was confused. "If it wasn't for that nightmare that's been on my mind since my first day here, I wouldn't have even cared enough to reach out to her."

Wanda smiled listening to her talk about the little girl Y/n's never met. Her barrier was slowly coming down the more time she spent at the compound. Wanda thought to herself for a bit knowing that she could take the nightmare out of Y/n's head.

It would take a couple seconds to remove the memory completely...

Y/n waited patiently for the gate to open so she could see her niece for the first time. She turned her head to look at Wanda about to start another conversation seeing that her hand was near her head red energy going through her veins.

For Y/n being a person with powers herself she felt different about Wanda's, more scarred. Seeing that Wanda was the one to give her the nightmare in the first place Y/n thought she was trying to read her mind.

She quickly grabbed Wanda's wrist a painful spark hit the two. Y/n released her grip on Wanda hand shaking it around trying to suppress the pain while Wanda rubbed her hand around her wrist. "The hell was that?" Y/n asked.

Wanda didn't say anything trying to catch her breath. "Was that you?" Y/n asked looking at Wanda.

"Yes, because I enjoy shocking myself." She answered sarcastically. "No, it wasn't me." Wandas attention moves off of Y/n and to the opening gate. Y/n noticed the look on Wanda's face and turned to look for herself.

She saw as the car pulled up in front of the two. Y/n was getting more nervous by the second until the little girl ran out the car door and jumped into Y/n's arms. Y/n was a bit taken back but quickly wrapped her arms around her holding her tight.

"Morgan give Y/n some space." Pepper said getting out the car with Tony. Y/n looked up shaking her head at Pepper who smiled. Tony looked over at the two and smiled to himself as Pepper put her hand on his back and lead him inside.

"I'll leave you two together." Wanda said standing up from the bench and following behind the couple. Morgan and Y/n pulled away, but she stayed seating on Y/n's lap.

"Can we play?" Morgan asked,

"Of course, what do you want to do?" Y/n asked picking Morgan up slightly and dropping her on the ground as she stood up taking her hand.

"I left my things at home." Morgan explained a little disappointed. Y/n and Morgan walked to the open field, and she thought this would be a good time to put her magic to use. Y/n made a volleyball appear in her hands and Morgan's face lit up making Y/n smile.

Y/n sat down in the grass and threw the ball to a random direction as Morgan went to go catch it. After a while the two started playing a variety of games. Morgan's favorite being on Y/n's back while she used her speed to run around the outside of the compound.

Morgan and Y/n ended up sneaking into Tony's workshop digging through all his drawers trying to find an Iron Man helmet.

"Over here!" Morgan yelled jumping up and down pointing to a button on the side of the wall. Y/n made her way over lifting the case that covered it then the button.

The two watched as thin steel doors separated showing all the designs of Tony's Iron Man suits from his first, to his latest. Y/n opened up one of the glass cases and took a helmet off the rest of the suit placing it on Morgan's head where she pretended to be her dad. Y/n brought Morgan back outside again where they play fought and Y/n lost.
