The days grew hotter, the sun seemed to shine brighter, and with that Y/n became lazier. She was laying down on the couch, with her shirt slightly lifted as to let the AC in the area cool her in some way.

Wanda was outside walking around in the shade watching the water ripple anytime she kicked a rock into the water. There was no specific reason to why she was outside in the heat, she just didn't want to be where Y/n was.

Not because she didn't enjoy her presence, but because that was the problem. She found herself leaning on someone she knew was about to leave soon. Y/n was for the most part the only person in the compound that didn't talk to her just to check up on her grief.

She enjoyed conversations she had with Nat, and she appreciated them, but she didn't enjoy how protective she got when she saw the slightest bit of sadness in her actions.

"Nat I said I'm fine." She lied when she was walked in on silently crying wrapped in the sheets of her bed with an empty spot next to her.

It was 3 months after the Westview event, since she lost Vision, her kids, her new life she was begging to get used to. Natasha was constantly checked up on Wanda but never caught her crying.

With a sigh Natasha walked in closing the door lightly as she turned the lights on brighter.

"Nat." Wanda whined covering her face in the sheets not wanting the attention Natasha was giving her, "Please."

"Wanda, you have to talk to someone." She said, cautiously walking to the empty spot on the bed. "It's okay to be fragile right now. You lost a lot, you have a lot to grieve."

Wanda tugged the sheets down to her eyes as it soaked up the tears that escaped the corner of her eye when she closed them. "Why am I always loosing someone?" She asked not expecting an answer.

"Wanda-"

"Theres nothing you can do. Just please give me some space." With the seriousness in her voice Natasha was almost about to leave, she walked back to the door with a sigh. Almost.

With her hand on the door handle she released her grip on it turning her gaze back to the lump under the sheets.

She walked over to the figure, she kneeled down at the side of the bed pulling the covers back exposing the semi messy red hair covering Wandas face.

She didn't fight it, she just tried to bury her head more into her pillow. Natasha brushed the hair out of Wandas face as her thumb circled her cheek.

"Talk to me."

That's how most of their conversations he been since the event, she enjoyed how her conversations with Y/n were real and about anything that came to their minds.

"Hey."

Wanda shot her head up at the voice that came from behind her, her gaze falling on Y/n who was jogging down the small hill to get into the shade.

A smile appeared on Wandas face watching as Y/n jerked back and flinched whenever a dragonfly or wasp flew her way.

Y/n ducked under the wasp and sprinted the rest of the way causing a laugh to slip from Wandas lips. When she made her way under the deck she looked over her shoulder waiting to see if it chased after her.

"You're in the clear." Wanda chuckled as she turned her head back to the ground searching for more rocks. "Why are you out here?"

"Well, Natasha doesn't like me much, Steve's okay. Bruce is...Bruce so your really the only person to talk to." She shrugged.

"So I'm your fourth option?" Wanda cocked an eyebrow waiting for Y/n's response.

"W-well I mean now you're my first, because I know the others don't want to talk so I mean in a way you're my first." She said not sure as to how to word her thoughts, she fixed her form crossing her arms over her chest as she continued. "You know, it really depends on how you see it, I mean-"

"I was kidding." Wanda said with a smile seeing Y/n's state, "I'm messing with you."

Y/n let out an awkward laugh turning her gaze off of Wanda. "It's..." she waved her finger around, "it's hot out, why are you out?" She inquired.

With a shrug Wanda said, "I needed to clear my mind of a few things."

"Did it work?"

Wanda shook her head, "Not really, as soon as they're about to leave, they seem to come back."

"Oh, well I didn't mean to interrupt, I just came out because I saw you and thought maybe you wanted to do something."

"Do something like what?"

Y/n looked up to the left thinking about what they could do to keep time from slowing down, after a few seconds she sighed, "There's a lake right there."

Wanda looked behind her at the water and shook her head, "You can go in, I'll watch."

"I thought we were doing this together." Y/n said in a playful tone.

"No, I'm not a lake person."

"You're not a fun person." Y/n muttered as she walked to the edge of the dock looking down at the water. Wanda raised a brow at her comment which Y/n felt from the death stare she was receiving.
