Yash looked at the smiling face of his wife, Arpita, the love of his life and his best friend. She was decked out like a bride and was looking ethereal in that yellow silk saree of hers. And the baby bump was making her look more beautiful and cute. He still couldn't believe that he was going to be a father. His happiness knows no bounds when he learns that they are going to have twins.
He slowly made his way towards her, where she was sitting on the special chair and surrounded by her cousins. He applied vermilion to her forehead and her hairline. He took a little sandalwood paste with his fingers, applied it to her cheeks and put a bit on her nose, making her giggle. He held her between his palms and kissed her forehead lovingly. She closed her eyes, feeling his touch. He made her wear glass bangles on both hands, which were adorned with Gorintaku (paste made with fresh henna leaves.) She showed her hands to him, grinning. He chuckled looking at her antics and kissed her hands, making the youngsters hoot at him.
Arpita looked at Yash lovingly. She couldn't still believe that they had come a long way. Today is her baby shower, and in one and a half months she will give birth to their babies. The symbol of their love. It's been two years since they got married and twelve years since they expressed their love for each other. She gestured for him to bend down, to which he kneeled in front of her. She took his face in her hands, kissed his forehead lovingly, and joined their heads. A small smile was playing on both of their faces.
The youngsters admired the couple in front of them while the elders blessed them and prayed for their happiness.
