Author's POV:
After a few months, Yash stepped into a room and sighed, looking at the darkness in the room. He switched on the lights and saw Suhaas sleeping on the bed, hugging Aashi's photo close to his heart. He pulled the curtains, allowing the sun rays to peep inside the room. Suhaas stirred in his sleep and covered his face with a pillow.
"Close those curtains," mumbled Suhaas.
"It's 8:30 a.m., buddy. You have a meeting at 11 o'clock," said Yash.
"To the hell with that stupid meeting. Let me sleep," said Suhaas.
Yash sighed and said, "Aashi will definitely not be happy looking at you."
That's it. Suhaas sat on the bed with a jerk.
"First tell her to wake up, buddy. Then I'll be back to my routine," said Suhaas.
"Her health is improving, buddy. Her internal injuries are slowly healing. Trust me, she will wake up one day," Yash said, sitting beside him.
Suhaas looked at him and said, "And when is that day? I have been waiting for her to wake up from the coma for eight months."
Yes, it's been nine months since Aashi and her parents met in an accident. It's been nine months since Aashi lost her parents, and she is in a coma. It's been nine months since Suhaas was waiting for his sweetheart to wake up.
Yash sighed helplessly, looking at his buddy. He couldn't do anything apart from giving him moral support and being his strength. Aashi is monitored every day by the most senior and experienced doctors. They said that she would definitely wake up one day. She has been doing better for a few weeks, and she has moved her fingers once or twice in the past few weeks. They are all waiting for her to wake up, especially Suhaas, Aashi's grandparents, Maya, Pranav, and Surya. But they are afraid of only one thing. That's her reaction when she finds out about her parents' demise after waking up from the coma.
"Miracles do happen, buddy. Let's wait for it to happen. We know that you lost belief in love after the divorce of Peddamma and Pedananna. You never thought that you would fall in love, but see now. You are head over heels in love with your sweetheart. Maybe God is testing your love for her. Maybe he wants to see whether you truly love her or not. Don't lose your hopes, buddy. See, soon our Aashi will wake up and be fit and fine. It's just a tough phase of your relationship, and you have to hold on to it," Yash said, patting his back.
Suhaas couldn't control himself anymore and hugged Yash tightly. He broke down in his arms and started to cry like a child.
"I can't lose her, buddy. I'll die if something happens to her. I didn't even realise when she became my life," Suhaas said in between his cries.
"You aren't going to lose her. God has snatched many people from our lives, buddy. He won't snatch her too from us," Yash said, consoling Suhaas.
