Chapter 79

"Yes!!! IN YOUR FACE!!" I screamed. I jumped up and did my happy dance.

"Seriously, mom?"

"Yeah, don't have to rub it in our faces." They both sulk.

"You don't have to be sore losers about it." I grin mischievously.

"WE are the SORE LOSERS?" Noah exclaims.

"I BEAT YOU IN SCRABBLE!! HAHAHA!" I dance around the room.

"Why did I think this was a good idea?" Fiona questions.

"Rule number one of living with your mom, never ever let her win or lose." Noah comments.

"What happens if she loses?"

"She broke a vase at Nyra's house, and almost tore up a pillow, and nearly broke down the front door." Noah deadpans.

"If you have to be dramatic about it," I mutter.

"Mom!"

'What? I just get competitive."

"No, really?" She asks sarcastically. I gave her a look.

"Anyways," I say, while we all pack up Scrabble.

"What?" Fiona asks.

"Did you finish your math project?"

"Yeah, Noah helped me with it." I grinned, and smiled at Noah. He blushes.

"What?" Fiona asks.

"Nothing, it's just really sweet. He tries to act all big and grumpy, but he's a soft little teddy bear." I grin even wider.

"I'm not a fucking teddy bear." Both of us give him a look.

"Language, Noah."

"I can't control what comes out of my fuc- my mouth." Fiona snickers. Noah playfully punches her arm.

"Mom, I don't think I'm going to be able to eat dinner."

"Me either." Noah says, and they exchange looks. I'm confused.

"What, why?"

"We had a giant chocolate pizza for lunch."

"Noah," I give him a look.

"What? I'm not going to get it every time!" He winks at Fiona, and she grins.

"Really."

"Yes."

"Okay, then i guess, I'm just going to have ice cream."

"What? I want some!"

"Thought you weren't hungry, love." I grin evilly.

"You suck."

"That's what she said." Fiona and I say in unison, and I smack my forehead, while she laughs.

"I'm an extremely bad influence." I can't keep the smile off my face.

"I'm tired," Fiona says, yawning.

"Already?" Noah asks her.

"It's 10 o'clock. We've been through monopoly, trouble, sorry, and scrabble. I'm pooped." I give her a sheepish smile.

"Sorry."

"It's all good, I'm gonna sleep. Goodnight. Love you guys." She kisses my cheek, gives Noah a hug and goes upstairs.

Noah looks like he's won the lottery.

"What are you grinning about, Williamson."

"Adopting her was the best decision you ever made."
