Chapter 93

"Give. Me. My. Donut." Everest puts the donut in his mouth, and Shanaya's eyes nearly bulge out of her head.

"YOU LITTLE-"

"Love, we use non-swear words."

"DUCKING DUCK. I'M GOING TO BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF YOU-"

"Shanaya!"

"Mom!" Everest just laughs at her. I drive to the school, and they exit the car.

"Shanaya?"

"He took my donut. That little shi-"

"SHANAYA."

"Sorry." I laugh at her. Her addiction to sweets is just crazy.

"Naya?"

"You're wearing different colored socks."

"I know." She gives me a goofy grin. I can't help but smile, looking at her. I couldn't wait to propose to her. I called Anvi and Nyra the other day, and they gave me their blessing. Now it's just her mom and her brother. That's going to be a hell of a task. Or not. fuck , I have no clue what the hell I'm doing.

"Why are you looking at me all weird, you big goof?"

"I'm not."

"Yes you are. What are you thinking about?"

"You."

"Me? What'd I do?"

"Nothing, just.. Okay, here's an odd question. What's your ring size?"

"Why do you ask about my ring size?"
"Because, why not?"

"Noah."

"Yes, love?"

"I'm a size, six, but that's besides the point. You don't have to get me jewelry, I have a ton of it. I do, I don't need any more jewelry." Could this girl be any more oblivious?

"Okay."

"Okay? You never give up that easily. What's going on?"

"Not saying a word." Her face suddenly morphs into a smirk.

"Wait, what's your ring size?"

"A seven and a half." A smile decorates her face.

"Why do you ask?"

"Oh, no reason." She says, a secret smile on her face. I wonder what goes through her head.

We walked into his office, hand in hand, while all eyes were on us. Again. I clutched my books to my chest, as we stood in the elevator. A familiar face enters the elevator as well.. It's Barry!

"Hey, barry!" I greet. He looks at me, and doesn't say anything.

"Barry? What's up?" I ask again, wondering why he wasn't answering.

"Barry? Remember-"

"Will you shut up?" What? That stung. What did I do?

"Pack your bags, and leave." Noah says, as the elevator dings, indicating we were on the topmost floor.

"What?"

"Don't make me repeat myself." Noah clutches my hand tighter, and we walk to his office, leaving a flabbergasted Barry behind.

'You didn't have to fire him." I say, as we enter his office, and he shuts the door behind us.

"I don't tolerate disrespect in my office."

"It's not that big of a deal-"

"Shanaya, please don't fight me on this." I frown, but listen. I sit on the couch near the window, on the opposite side of the room. I open up my book, when he sits down next to me.

"Noah, you have a desk."

"I'm sitting here."

"Okay." He pulls e into his lap, and starts typing on his laptop.

"Noah?"

"Yes, love?"

"How is this helping you concentrate?"

"It's not." I snort. I sit on the couch next to him, leaning my head on his shoulder.

"DO your work Noah. It's your first day back after a few days. Be productive. I'm here all the time because you don't let me out of your sight."

"Fine, Fine." He grumbles.

"Can I have a kiss f-"

"Do your work, Noah."

"Yes ma'am." I roll my eyes, and continue reading the book. My eyes skim across the page, delving deeper and deeper into the story, my mind illustrating beautiful pictures.

"Shanaya. Naya. Naya. Love. Love. LOVE. NAYA!" I'm suddenly on my back. I didn't hear him, I was so lost in the book.

"Hiya."

"Naya."

"What? You know I get carried away in the book when I read. I sometimes block out the world, sorry." He just chuckles.

"Wanna get lunch?"

"It's been twenty minutes."

"It's been a few hours."

"No it hasn't. You liar."

"I'm not lying, love. Check your phone." I huff, and check my phone, rolling my eyes when i see he's right.

"I told y-"

"Don't finish that sentence."

"I told you so."

I jump on his back, tackling him.

"Naya! What are you- oh sh-shit!" He starts laughing when I tickle him.

"N-Nay-Naya! Stop!" He manages to throw me off him.

"Who's begging who now?" I smirk, and he laughs.

"Okay, I'll give that one to you." He stands up, holding out his hand.

"You coming?"

"That's what she said."

"SHANAYA."

"Okay, okay, I'm coming." I smirk.

"Don't say it. Don't say it."

"THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID." I grin.

He pulls me up from the couch, poking my arm. I cheekily smile at him, but he's grinning too. Everything is just perfect. I wouldn't change a single thing.
