I rubbed my hand over my chest, where I could still feel the liquor burning a little. Colby chuckled, and rubbed my arms. "I know," he replied. "But you did it. The burn doesn't last that long." "Yeah," I said, rubbing my chest again. "That was grody though. The taste is horrible!" They all laughed a little, and Colby nodded. "It is, but the more you drink, the less you can taste it." I stuck out my tongue and fake gagged, then shook my head. "Not for me." I brought my bottle to my nose and sniffed it. Smelled pretty good actually. Like lemonade, and it had a slight pink tinge to the liquid. The label said that is was pink lemonade flavor, so maybe it was pretty good. I put the bottle to my lips and took a small sip. The fizzy drink exploded with flavor on my tongue. It was sweet, but with the slight tartness of lemons. "Duuuude," I breathed out. "This is actually bangin'!" "So, you do like pink lemonade then?" Colby asked, laughing a little. "Oh hell ya!" I exclaimed. "We use to make it every summer, before laying out in the sun." I took another swallow, but this time, it was a deep one. It just tasted so good and refreshing! "Might wanna slow down," Colby suggested. "It might not taste like alcohol, but it is." I rolled my eyes. I was starting to annoy myself with how much I did that. "Whateva!" I exclaimed, with a smile. "I'm here for a good time, right? I won't drink too much." He looked doubtful. "Okaaay then," he responded, with a soft smile. Just then, the band announced that they would be taking a break and the DJ would be taking over for a little while. I had no clue what song was started but the beat was definitely something you could dance too. "Time to get out on the floor! Come on, Jake!" Tara exclaimed, standing up and wiggling her hips. She grabbed Jake's hand and started pulling him up. He resisted at first. "No Tara, you know I can't dance!" he replied, pulling his hand back. "You know how to stand there! This isn't anything new! Now, COME ON!" She grabbed him again, and pulled hard. He groaned and stood up. "Fiiinee." I giggled along with Katrina. "Sucks for him," Sam said, taking a sip of his drink. "Why is that?" Kat asked. His eyes grew a little wide, and he almost choked on his drink. "Oh um...because he doesn't want to dance, but has to anyway?" It was like he was asking if that was the correct answer. She smiled and took his hand. "Yeah, so I guess it sucks for you too," she said, then stood and pulled him to his feet. "I knew that was coming," he said, with a smile. It didn't look like it was going to much of a hardship for him. I watched them all walk out onto the floor. "Yo, I'm gonna head out there too," Corey said, before taking another swallow of his drink, then jogging out to the floor. "I'm gonna leave you two lovebirds alone," Brennen said, picking up his drink. "I see a cutie that I want to go say hi too." He winked at Colby, then walked off towards the bar. I watched our friends on the dance floor. Tara had been right. Both Jake and Sam were more or less just standing there. Their feet shuffled and their arms moved around the girls, but that was all. Kat and Tara were grinding up against them and dropping down to the floor. Then Katrina started to do some amazing dance moves. "Wow," I whispered, watching her. "She's amazing. Where did she learn to dance like that?" "Actually?" Colby asked, looking shocked. "Yeah," I replied. Why was he looking at me like I was crazy? "Damn, I can't believe we haven't already mentioned it to you. She's a singer. She dances in her music videos. She learns, like, real choreography and stuff." "She has actual music videos?" I asked, kind of stunned. I mean, I had heard her kind of sing, just joking around. She had a really good voice, but I didn't know that she was a real singer. "So, she's got fans? Is she famous?" I asked. He grinned, and took a swallow of his drink. "Depends on your definition, I guess. A lot of people know about her, and listen to her music, but a lot of people also don't have a clue who she is. Just like Sam and I, I guess." "That's so dope," I replied. "Dope," he repeated, and smiled. "Shut it," I said, with a small laugh. He winked, then turned his drink up. He finished it off in just a few swallows, then lowered his glass. He licked his lips, and met my gaze. Damn it, man. My belly tightened in response. I might've been a virgin, but I wasn't blind. The sex appeal literally oozed off this man. Had anyone else ever affected me this way? The closest thing that I could think of was how my famous crushes made me feel . In my first life, as I had started calling it. Johnny Depp and Rob Lowe were my two strongest crushes. None of the guys around me had ever made me question losing my virginity before marriage. If I had been propositioned by Johnny or Rob though...well, I wasn't so sure that I would be a virgin right now. Strangely enough, my body was giving me the same feeling with Colby. "You wanna dance? I'm not much of one, but I know how fake it," he replied, holding out his ring clad hand to me. Had I ever thought that hands were sexy? Not that I knew of. Until now. I didn't want to go against my values. I really didn't, but as I looked up at him standing in front of me, my body was asking if I was sure about that. I hadn't really gotten back into my faith yet, but I had only been alive again for a couple of days. "Um, I don't know," I answered. "I don't know how to dance to this music. The only moves I know pretty old by now. Otherwise, I just move my hips." "That's all you need," he answered, reaching down to take my hand and pull me up. "Okay," I replied, hesitantly. My mouth had suddenly lost all of it's moisture and felt like the Sahara Desert. "Hold on." I reached down and picked up my drink from the table. I turned it up, and let the sweet, fizzy drink quench my thirst.
