Maybe that was acceptable now? I still would never be able to allow myself to read things like that to my kids. "I'm pretty sure that I would keep anything written by us, far far away from any potential children that I might have," Colby spoke up. "There's no way. It's the same way I feel about most of our older videos." Sam started to laugh and I felt the small smile creep up on my lips. It made me happy to think that he agreed with me, even in the smallest way. "My mom would kill me if I actually did that," Corey said, laughing. "Okay, so what's next?" "Uh, how about Tara's suggestion?" Sam asked. "Truth of Dare." "Eh, might be fun," Colby relied from the driver's seat. "What dare can you possibly do while driving?" Sam asked him. Colby shrugged. "No idea, but it sounds intriguing to find out." Sam stared at him in the rear view. So, we started the game of Truth or Dare. I was insanely nervous about this one, because I couldn't tell the truth about so many things. It just wasn't plausible. I would have no choice but to choose Dare every time, or lie, and I just wasn't a good liar. My mom used to say that my face was like an open book, every emotion evident in it. Thankfully, I wasn't one of the first ones chosen, although, the anticipation of being chosen might have been worse. I laughed along with the rest of them when Corey was dared to kiss Jake. I didn't actually think he would do it, but then he grabbed Jake's face and planted a loud kiss right on his lips. "EW, Corey cooties," Jake exclaimed, wiping his mouth with the back of hand. "There's more where that came from," Corey replied, batting his eyes at him. Tara had to make a prank phone call to Burger King and order tacos. Katrina told us her most embarrassing story, then came the one that had me laughing so hard, I thought that my ribs would crack. "Okay, Jake," Sam said, after licking the window of the SUV. "It's your turn. "Truth or Dare?" "Dare, duh," Jake replied. "I dare you to moon the passing cars," Sam said, a wicked grin crossing his lips. "No problem," Jake said, shrugging his shoulders. "Wait, are there any cops around?" Colby asked, looking in the rearview mirror. "I'm not trying to get arrested for this stupid shit." Everyone started looking around to be sure. "Nope, looks clear to me," Jake said, and started unbuckling his belt. "Oh my God," I said, in a hushed tone. "You're not actually?" He looked at me like I was the one about to be crazy enough to moon people on the damn road. "Course I am. It's a Dare. You have to do the Dare." He stood up, as much as he could, and positioned himself in front of the window. "Let 'er rip!" he yelled, then dropped his pants. Colby lowered the window by a little button on his side of the vehicle and Jake pushed his whole ass out of the opening and started to shake it back and forth. "Like what you see, bitches?!" he yelled. Cars started honking their horns and I looked over to see a couple of younger kids laughing and pointing towards our vehicle. "Okay, okay, get your ass back in here," Sam said, laughing. "I can't believe you just did that!" I exclaimed. "I could never!" "You'd probably cause a wreck, if you did," Colby said, winking at me mischievously. I felt that stupid blush run to my cheeks again, and ducked my head. "That's not even one of the craziest things we've done," Sam laughed out. "I'm not even surprised anymore," I replied. "She's learning," Tara said, with a smile. "You'll be one of us in no time," Katrina said, leaning forwards and patting my shoulder. I smiled at her, but my feeling of inclusion actually dropped at her words. I wouldn't be one of them. Not completely. I couldn't tell most of them about who I actually was or what had happened to me. Hell, my own family couldn't even know. Maybe that was part of the reason that I felt so connected to Colby. He knew all of it, so I could share things with him, if I chose too.  There was something that I hadn't told him yet, though. I wasn't sure that I wanted too. It made me feel dirty and violated. There was something dark in me, still. I had felt it when the fight broke out and that man tried to hurt me. It was dangerous and wanted to claw it's way out of me. I had images of me slamming the heel of my palm up into the man's nose, causing blood to gush all over my fingers and his eyes to roll back in his head. I imagined hitting him so hard that his brains spewed out from his eye sockets. The vision disturbed me so much, that I froze until Colby rammed into the guy. Why would I imagine something so violent and grody? "Truth or Dare, Colby?" I heard Brennen say. "I can't really do a Dare, since I'm driving," Colby replied, holding his palms up off of the steering wheel for a second. "So, Truth, I guess." "Okay," Brennen replied, getting a sly little grin on his face. "Are you and Anna officially dating? Like, boyfriend and girlfriend?" I gasped a little and shot a glance to Colby's face. He looked a little shell shocked, with his mouth slightly hanging open. "Uh," he said, looking at me. He cleared his throat and continued. "First, boyfriend and girlfriend just sounds like we're in grade school. Second, TRUTHfully, I have no idea. We haven't talked about it yet." "Boo, I don't like that answer," Brennen said, giving him a thumbs down. Colby shrugged. "You don't have to like it. It's the truth and that's the name of the game." I stayed quiet in my little corner of the SUV. What was I even supposed to say to something like that? I hadn't dated anyone in over 30 years! I had no idea how it worked anymore. The last time I did, I was captured by a psychotic witch who tortured me for all of those years. Of course, we were making out like we were together, so that meant we were...right? So many things had changed since my time before. I had no clue if people did that when they weren't together. I never had.
