Cordelia sits in her seat behind Din, the Child standing next to him on the control panel. She reads a book she took from Din's room, looking up when she hears a beep. She sees the Child lowering his arm from a button and smiles, going back to her book.
"Stop touching things." Din says. She looks up and watches as the Child slowly reaches his arm towards the button again. The ship starts to shake and she gasps. Din quickly fixes it and grabs the Child, setting him in his lap. Cordelia smiles at the two, setting her book down.
"Let's see. Sorgan. Looks like there's no star port, no industrial centers, no population density. Real backwater skug hole. It's perfect for us." He says. He turns to look at Cordelia. "What do you think?" He asks.
"Let's give it a shot." She says. He nods and turns back to the controls. He looks down at the Child.
"You ready to lay low and stretch your legs for a couple of months, you little womp rat?" Din says. Cordelia leans forward and smacks his arm.
"That had better be affection in your voice, Din Djarin." She scolds. He chuckles.
"Of course it is." He replies, flying the ship towards the planet. He finds a clearing to land in and shuts the engine off. "Listen. I'm gonna go out there and I'm gonna look around. It shouldn't take too long." He tells them, placing the Child in Cordelia's lap. "I'll find us some lodging, then I'll come back for you. Stay here. Understand?" He says. They both nod and he moves down the ladder.
Cordelia waits for a moment before silently following him down. She sees the ramp lowering and moves to stand next to him.
"We're ready to go." She says, grinning at him. He sighs, acting annoyed even though he's secretly happy she decided to come with him. He moves past her, back into the ship and she watches him move, confused.
He waves her towards him as he opens his weapons case. She joins him as he reaches inside and pulls out the twin blaster to his own. She gasps as he holds it out to her.
"Really?" She asks. He nods and she takes it from him, smiling. She attaches it to her hip. "We match!" She says excitedly, pointing between the two blasters. He chuckles.
"Come on." He says, walking past her and down the ramp. They walk through the forest, Cordelia touching the trees as they pass. "Are you gonna touch every tree you walk past?" Din asks after the twentieth tree.
"Yep!" She says, going out of her way to touch another tree. He chuckles, shaking his head and continues to lead the way.
Eventually they reach a village and enter the cantina. Din walks around and finds them a table, grabbing the Child and lifting him onto a chair. He pulls a seat out for Cordelia before sitting in the corner seat. A woman approaches the table.
"Welcome, travelers. Can I interest you in anything?" She says.
"Bone broth, for the little one and her." Din says, gesturing to Cordelia.
"Oh, well, you're in luck. I just took down a grinjer, so there's plenty. Can I interest you in a porringer of broth as well?" She says.
"Just the two." He responds.
"Very well." She says. Cordelia smiles at her.
"Thank you." She says. The woman nods.
"That one over there. When did she arrive?" Din asks, looking at a woman across the cantina. The woman shakes her head.
"I've seen her here for the last week or so." The woman says.
"What's her business here?" He asks.
"Business? Oh, well, there's not much business in Sorgan, so I can't say." She says and chuckles. Din drops some credits on the table. "She doesn't strike me as a log runner. Well, thank you, sir." She says, taking the money. "I will get that broth to you as soon as possible, and I will throw in a flagon of spotchka just for good measure. I will be right back with that." She says, walking away. Din quickly gets up.
