Chapter 26: Project Virus

(Disclaimer: Humanised characters. If that's not something you enjoy, well, I dunno.)

"What the heck's going on?" Bibi asked as she jogged towards Larry. Jessie followed after. "I don't know, but our border...it's getting attacked. But it seems to be attack by only one entity. We don't know who or what that entity it is yet." Larry explained as he scrolled through more reports hastily.

Jessie felt a little anxious but kept her cool, "There's only one of them, it could be 8-bit in virus form. He has been persuading this base ever since we got here."

Larry sighed, "We have another problem, Major Cam is gone. Taken by Rico."
Bibi frowned, "Rico? But Rico was with Piper at night. What reasons compelled him to attack such a high ranking official?"

Jessie wrecked her mind, "Perhaps Virus has already breached the defences. And now he is progressing forwards for an attack." Larry looked at Jessie, and then at Bibi, "You guys may be right...I should che-"

The computer had an incoming transmission and Larry rushed over as he tripped and stumbled, "Who is this?" Larry grunted.

The transmission opened a live camera of the situation happening at the border. Ships were firing and flying about.

The camera turned to face an older teenager that had a digital eye mask with lime pixelated eyes that looked smug. "You know who I am?" The young man asked. He showed the camera to his outfit. He was wearing a black and lime hoodie that looked like a long coat due to the extensions at the legs. He wore black trousers for the legs and accompanied them with pink boots. All around his body and eyes, there were digital lines spreading across his body.

A ship hovered out from behind and fired. Larry smiled when he saw the flanking manoeuvre, but his smile faded when a metal snake thing came to block the bullets. The ship fired a rocket but the snake grabbed the rocket in its jaws and rammed itself into the ship, blowing it up easily.

"Tell me Jessie, do you recognise me? Do recognise your old little pal?" The young man asked.

Jessie stepped back...

"Who are you?"

The man spitted aggressively, "That's right!Look at me now, again!"
Jessie relook the man and gasped, "No it can't be...are you..." Jessie looked at Larry and Bibi uneasily, "I think this guy's Virus in a new body..." Bibi frowned and looked at the man.

The man laughed as his voice became more sounding to Virus. His teenage/young adult voice overlapped with his Virus voice, "That's right, this isn't just any body, this is MY body!"

Virus took a black squarish hat and topped it on his head, covering most of his messy hair.
"I'm coming for you...let's see how long your toys here can keep me entertained!"

He slammed the camera down and stepped on it. The screen became static and the transmission ended. Larry was taken aback. "He just...he destroyed a ship in one punch! This guy's stronger than Wingleton..." Jessie didn't know who that was but felt that it was bad.

Bibi looked at the two distressed people and added, "He seems to be attacking with metal snakes." Jessie nodded, "We should get going to prepare the others. Larry cleared his throat, "I suppose we should. My soldiers will not hold off for long though, since their morale may not be as high."

The trio ran towards the apartment sections to wake the brawlers up.

There were two sections, north and south sections. Jessie was in charge this time, "Larry, I have a plan. This place has a north and south section. You go to the north section to get Leon and the others, while Bibi and I would wake the others in the south section, where the retro gang and the others are."
