Larry and the other three brawlers watch all the other brawlers board a large ship armed with big weapons. Six other ships had made a small group and entrance for the transport ship.

Leon had an uneasy stomach seeing all his friends leave, at the same time, however, had a building excitement for adventurous action.

Colonel Ruffs was the last to board the ship as he stood at the entrance. "It was an honour to serve you Colonel, I hope we meet again. Safe travels." Ruffs saluted as the ramp hatched lifted, slowly blocking him out of sight.

"Honour to you too, safe travels." Larry answered as he saluted too.

...

After the departure of the brawlers, Larry went straight to business. "Alright guys, first things first, need rest?" The trio shook their head, feeling ready for their first mission.

Larry nodded, "Good. Alright, before we get into any plans and action, we first need to get you guys geared up."

The three looked at each other and nodded, "Oh by the way, Larry, you can't really change our weapons. It's part of us so yeah." Larry shrugged, "Don't need too, just get you guys armoured so you don't die in one hit."

...

Larry led the brawlers to a set of metals doors and threw a key card into the card holder. He failed and it fell to the ground. "Dammit." He picked it up and scanned it normally.

The doors pulled itself open as the mechanical works could be heard.
"Welcome to Fort Defonshore."
There were two sets of doors, one of which required a keycard while the other was sensor recognition. It scanned Larry and the other brawlers before it allowed access.

The four stepped into the large barracks as soldiers armed themselves with equipment. Many stared and nodded towards them.

8-bit looked to the soldiers, "Shouldn't them be saluting you?" Larry shook his head, "We don't really do that here. Everyone is around the same rank. Though when things go to shit, we will take discipline seriously."

They reached an armour section and Larry briefed the three on what basic items they should have.

"Alright, the first thing you should have, is oxygen skin. This gives increased but limited oxygen in open space. It refills when entering an oxygenated area." Larry tossed a small round device to the three brawlers.

"Next, you would probably be advised to wear fleeting boots. These can be add ons to your foot wear for extra speed."

He tossed another handheld round object to the three.

"Then grab a wrist or head communicator of your choice."

Leon and Bibi grabbed a wrist communicator while 8-bit took a headset.

"Lastly, wear the anti-projectile vest. It reduces pain taken by a small amount and blocks a few types of rounds like low intensity rounds. It does not block sniper rounds."

Larry took three vests off the wall and passed each of the three brawlers a vest.

"Now for specialised equipment. For Leon, I recommend a grappling hook and automated smoke cloaking. It's all up to your consent, we will get them made specially for you if you want."

Leon nodded, "Sounds good to me."

"As for Bibi, I think you are strong enough as long as you can block projectiles with your bat. So a focus visor would help you focus on things better. Faster reaction time."

Bibi shrugged and nodded.

"And for 8-bit, if you can allow us to upgrade your turret to be lightweight and act better for being a shield, that would be your consent."

8-bit agreed, "Sure, as longs as it doesn't become a liability for me."

Larry clapped his hands together, "Awesome, I guess we are set. Now we can get to planning our target on the enemy we already have a simple heading. Now let's go."

They left the barracks and went through the purple halls, towards another room.

The halls suddenly had translucent windows, allowing everyone to barely see the outer surface. The surface was purple and fog made it difficult to see.

"This planet is very dark and barely has plant life." Leon pointed out as they passed by. Larry stopped, "Well, I heard that the plants somehow stay below the surface due to frequent hazard storms that happen here. The natural instability of the planet provides the strongest double bladed sword defence."

Bibi raised her eyebrow, "The hell does that mean?"

Larry continued waking forward, "Well you see, this base is not really fit for field combat. Its too dangerous for soldiers to fight. We did create special equipment to sustain in a medium storm for field combat in case of emergency but we mostly stay inside."

"It was almost impossible to get this station to be anchored to the ground. This place started off as a large space station. We wanted to build a facility on the planet because the nebula surrounding it made it almost impossible for ships to navigate this section of the planet. After passing the nebula, you can't land your ship on the planet without special equipment due to the hazard storms. If you are lucky, you can get out of the storms after landing. But most of the time, your ships could be flipped, zapped, melted, damaged, or frozen."

Larry led the brawlers to an elevator. He pressed a button and waited for the elevator. The number of the elevator showed 74. It's value slowly reduced as the elevator ascended through the levels.

Larry turned to the three, "So our plan was to land a station named Defonshore on the planet and anchor it down. We charged the strongest shielding and managed to land it. It was rough but we pulled it off. After that, we used special drills that would anchor down at a certain level of descent. This helps the station to stay in place. We then used special auto ships that are connected to the station to go through the electric storms to gain high voltage charges to power the shields and prevent the ships and station from being damaged."

"Then from there, we make the station bigger through the underground. So really, the entire city was built underground. There isn't much space ports on the planet itself. We used particle teleporters to reach the ports that are outside of the planet. There are also small devices that charge from the nebula for even more power. They act as cameras. So while the planet is quite secure, the military isn't much due to the conditions and solely relies on weather conditions and climate disasters to fend of invaders. Many pirates don't dare cross this planet due to the risk of being lost and being ripped apart through storms."

After the brief history of the base was explained by Larry, the lift came and he entered. "So yeah. We are kinda defenceless. This is a researching planet. Not a military base."

The brawlers felt concerns but Larry reassured them, "Don't worry, this place hasn't been touch for many years. It's impractical to attack this place. We do still have automated defences to add carnage against invaders, hence the title "Fort". The space near the planet has auto patrol ships."

They went into the lift and felt it descend into the bottomless pits of Defonshore.
