" Demon...flesh? Not just the blood?" I question.

" Correct...and it won't even be an option. Right now, it seems that your body produces the nutrients you need without consuming food. However, in the future this will not be the case. Your body also appears to store nutrients, saving them for when you actually need it," Shinobu explains.

What if my regeneration depends on how many spare nutrients I have?

" If I eat more, do you think I could up my regeneration speed?" I ask.

" Perhaps. You do need nutrients to construct new cells."

I nod, cupping my chin with my hand.

" So I'll just eat every demon I can then. Mass cannibalism, sound good?"

" Well, no. But it would be a good idea."

I roll my eyes and exit the room, assuming that I've overstayed.

Eat demon flesh? I wonder what it would taste like...I've only ever drank the blood which tastes sweet. The flesh might taste rotten though...

I sigh and shake my head. All of these thoughts are too much for me, so I decide to just go to sleep. To my surprise, the girl from earlier is waiting outside of my room. Seeing her causes me to stop and try to turn around.

" Aku!" she shouts.

I narrow my eyes and turn back slowly.

" Hi! It's been so long since I last saw you! This weird girl here said she came to visit you!" she chucks a thumb behind her.

How did I not notice Rei standing behind her?

" Hi," she says sheepishly.

" Lets go Rei," I say, walking in the opposite direction of the two girls.

I don't exactly love being around Rei, however she is much better than whoever the weird girl is.

Rei jogs to catch up to me and stares at me, trying to hide her smile.

" Don't laugh! She followed me back and I'm not allowed to hurt humans!" I cry.

" You sound like Zenitsu!" she laughs, putting her hand up to her mouth.

" Don't lump me with him," I say sternly.

She just continues to laugh.

" I heard about the lemon thing from the girls," she smiles.

" Yeah that was pretty funny."

" I can't believe you laughed at that though! From all the jokes I've made, you've never laughed! I was thinking that you're some kind of evil spirit!"

" Maybe I am. I'm the evil spirit who's come to devour the human souls of this world!" I say, putting a hand on my hip and raising my chin.

She chuckles and we step outside to find Tanjiro and the others still training. Once he sees me, Tanjiro stands up and waves, smiling.

" How was your mission?" he asks.

" Good. There were two demons, no survivors," I answer.

" You call that good?"

I shrug.

" Maybe you really are an evil spirit!" Rei chimes in, " it's good to see you again Tanjiro! We haven't spoken in a while!"

" It's good to see you too!"

" Rei, Rei!" Zenitsu cries, stumbling over to us, " will you be staying with us? I don't want to be stuck with these guys and no girls!"
