he was set to marry a girl named jasmine and i absolutely loathed her. she shit talked him, not around him of course, but she still did and it angered me. i didn't quite understand what he saw in her, but according to him, that wasn't any of my business.

it was the night of september 15, 1966, their wedding. she sat in the chair getting her hair pinned up by me as i looked at the plus size bride to be. she glanced at me, another plus size woman as she sniggered,

"i hope that when him and i get married he doesn't play that God awful guitar. it's no wonder john and paul won't let him contribute to anything."

i looked at her with furrowed brows, "well they're a worldwide famous band. so, his guitar playing actually contributes a lot." i chuckled, while she rolled her eyes,

"and you're so plain..how is it you're his best friend?" she questioned, raising her brow. her pig nose becoming more noticeable.

"well it's actually really easy! i'm not a stuck up little bitch who has the world handed to them but looks like they ate it all in one sitting." i quipped as she gasped,

"fuck you julia!"

"right back atcha jasmine!" i seethed yanking her hair a bit. she winced while i finished her hairstyle, dusting my hands off,

"good luck at your wedding." i grunted while i went to walk outside before bumping into george. i looked at him with a befuddled look,

"george what are you doing here? you know you can't see the bride before the wedding." i heeded while he nodded,

"yeah well actually i came here for you so." he began before i stopped talking.

"why? what's wrong?" i softly asked.

"just come here." he spoke with a rushed tone.

"fine!" i groaned.

he took me to a secluded area while he looked deeply into my eyes that matched, "i don't know if i can do this."

"why not? she's the love of your life, your soulmate! least that's what you call her in front of me." i softly smiled, wanting so badly to slap him in the face and tell him that what he's been looking for has been here all along.

"jules.. i'm nervous. what if i'm not a good husband? what if she shit talks everything i do?! what if we get divorced?!" he cried out while i placed my hand reassuringly onto his shoulder,

"look, you are my best friend and if there's anything i know about you, it's that you don't stop until you get what you want. now, jasmine is who you're choosing to spend the rest of your life with and if that's a decision you've made 6 months ago when you proposed then- well then.. enjoy this moment george, because you're only going to get one." i crookedly beamed while he pulled me into a hug,

"mm i'm so glad i have you in my life julia." he whispered, rubbing my back.

"yeah me too." i whispered while a tear shed. i wiped my eye, pulling away,

"now...go get em tiger!" i kissed his cheek while he blushed and walked off.

the wedding was about to start as i took my seat next to george's mother. i folded my arms in my lap as the music began. jasmine and her father burgess walked out as the people gazed in awe at how beautiful she looked. she caught glimpse of me and while she was walking past me, stuck her middle finger up subtly. i scoffed to myself as i put it back up, mouthing; "back atcha bitch."
