IT SEEMED DRACO JUST COULDN'T RESIST OPENING HIS MOUTH as he sighted Harry.

"Having a last meal, Potter? When are you getting the train back to the muggles?"

"You're a lot braver now you're back on the ground and you've got your little friends and sister with you," Harry retorted.

"I'd take you on any time on my own," he countered. "Tonight, if you want. Wizard's duel. Wands only – no contact. What's the matter? Never heard of a wizard's duel before, I suppose?"

Cassie couldn't help but stare at her brother in disbelief. There was no way he had just called on a duel not even a term into their first year. "Of course, he has," Ron said. "I'm his second, who's yours?"

Draco turned to Crabbe and Goyle, sizing them up. "Cass'll be."

Cassiopeia thought she was dreaming. She must have been. There was absolutely no way he had just signed her up for a duel. She couldn't help but give him a long side glance.

"Midnight all right? We'll meet you in the trophy room, that's always unlocked." With that, Draco had turned and stalked away, and Cassie had stomped towards him furiously.

"Are you crazy!? Have you just been sent to Azkaban and back?" she hissed at him. "I'm your second? Don't you realise we've only just started school?"

"Relax, I'm not gonna die. The most Potter will be able to do is shoot some weak sparks," he said casually.

"Still! If we get caught, we're dead. And then father will kill me!"

"Which is exactly why we will not be going," Draco said with a devious smirk.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, let's just say it would be rather unfortunate if Potter and Weasley happen to be caught out of bed after Filch gets a tip that students may be lurking around the trophy room."

Cassie's brows raised. "Let me guess – the tip will be from you?"

"Precisely," Draco said with an evil look.

"There's just one problem with that plan; we're in the same common room. It'll be just a tad suspicious if they see me in my dormitory despite me being your second. Wouldn't it have been better if Crabbe was your second or something like that?"

"Damn. I should have thought about that," Draco said to himself. "Whatever – just hide under your covers so they'll think you've left, or something."

"If you say so, Draco."

So that night, Cassie had made sure her red and gold curtains had been closed as she crept down to the common room, sitting in the far corner as she read one of her favourite childhood books – The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Of course, her father highly disliked the book since he believed one of the fables had promoted marriage between wizards and muggles.
