It had been a few weeks now since Normani began working at Magic. She was starting to get the hang of being a bottle girl while also bartending at the strip club.

She ended up buying herself some pepper spray and a pocket knife for any aggressive male customer that wanted to try it with her.

Normani knew that she couldn't keep relying on Von or security to come to her rescue every single time she had an issue with someone.

And speaking of Von, Normani made sure to successfully avoid both him and Durk at all times. After hearing about how they were involved with murders and drugs, Normani made sure to keep her distance from both of them.

She just wasn't interested.

Instead, she made sure to stack up her savings with every pay check she earned. She wanted to make enough money to be able to move out of Ari's place, and into her own apartment.

School started as well. She had to spend some of her money to pay for classes out of pocket, but it was only a minor set back for a major come back.

Mani found herself chilling at the bar by herself at Magic. It was a quiet Tuesday night to her surprise. Since it was a week day there weren't as many people at the club which she appreciated.

Normani actually had her laptop out on the counter. She tried to sneak in some homework since she had plenty of downtime during her shift.

Her fingers typed away on the keyboard as her eyes were focused on the screen. This assignment she was working on was due at 11:59pm.

She could feel the stress accumulating inside of her as she rushed to submit her work in.

She was so engrossed on her homework, she didn't even realize Durk approaching the counter with a smirk on his face.
