Rin Penrose + !Gender Neutral!Reader

Can be read platonically or romantically, your call,

Rin Penrose, the one who gets me, the funny little dude, Ikea shark family. (Translation: I know it's been a while, but life has hit me hard and honestly? My hyperfixations have taken me on a journey.)

Word Count → 1947 Words

Warnings → Stealing from Ikea is probably illegal and you should probably not do this. That being said, I am not your mother and I won't stop you, so do with this information what you will.

I have taken some creative liberty with Rin's character, as she herself hasn't said much about her character lore.

One foot in front of the other.

You glanced around nervously. Shadows danced upon the walls, making you almost jump out of your skin every few seconds whenever one shifted in the corner of your eye.

One foot in front of the other.

This wasn't the first time you'd done this, and you knew it wouldn't be the last. The fix was too great, the risk was worth it for the reward, the adrenaline rush too boundless for you to ever leave it behind. You knew your confidant felt the same, you could see the misechvious glint in her eyes every time you found yourself stalking through the darkness.

One foot in front of the other.

You could feel your heart pounding in your chest - whether it was out of fear or excitement, you didn't know. You passed a bedroom display, taking the left fork in the path as Rin took the right. This was a new one, and you hadn't the best idea of the layout, especially in the dark, so you waved your torch around carefully, avoiding the windows as best as you could. But all you could see were the mass amounts of furniture and displays surrounding you, a clear-cut smell of Ikea invading your senses.

One foot in front of the other.

You weren't doing this for money - I mean, if you were, you wouldn't be breaking into an Ikea of all places to steal stuff. You'd probably find somewhere that had a few pricier options if that was the case, but it wasn't. You were doing this for your own enjoyment, kind of. You were iffy about how you felt about breaking into Ikeas. There was a certain rush to it, but there was also a part of you that felt guilty. But the reward at the end of it all was so worth it, which was probably why you kept coming back to this sort've thing.

Just one foot in front of the other.

"Psst, (Name)," Rin bumped shoulders with you, her eyes glowing in the dark like two, small high beams. You lowered your torch to the floor as to not disturb her night vision, watching the two orbs of red and blue flick back and forth from you into a slightly darker patch of darkness. You hovered your light in that direction, watching as the beam reflected off the stark walls and into another section of the store.
