|Izzy's POV|

Tyler and I went and ran errands with Lauren and had just got back from lunch. We were in the middle of an intense game of Chutes and Ladders when my phone started ringing. I saw Erica was calling.

Hello.

Hey, Ms. Izzy.

Erica, hey babes.

Something sounded off in her voice. I got up and went to the kitchen.

You alright? You don't sound like yourself.

I need you.

Alright, where are you? I'll come to you.

Her voice cracked as she said that.

Erica.

Silence.

Erica.

Nothing. She was freaking me out. Where the hell was she?

Erica!

Yes.

I said, where are you?

I'm home.

I'm on my way.

No, Ms. Izzy. I'm sorry I called. I can't put you in the middle of anything that's happening with me or between Logan and I. You're his mom and...

Erica, I am on my way. Don't leave that house.

Okay.

See you in a few.

I went back to the living room. Tyler saw my face and turned his attention to Lauren. She spotted me when I came back in.

"Grandma, it's your go. You talk to mommy?"

"I did. She actually needs my help with something. You and grandpa are going to have a blast together."

"Aw, can I come?"

"Then I'm going to be sad and all alone," Tyler whined.

"No. I'll stay with you grandpa. Can we watch wrestling?"

"Sure bug. How about you go get a few snacks from the pantry."

Her eyes lit up.

"Really? How many?"

"You can pick 2 snacks. One for me, one for you and then we'll share."

"Okay."

She was about to take off running, but Ty stopped her.

"I don't want to have to give you stitches or staples for cracking your head. No running."

"Okay, grandpa. I walk really slow."

We laughed as she tiptoed out of the room. Ty stood up.

"What's going on with Erica?"

"I don't know. She said she's at the house. Have you heard from Logan?"

He checked his phone.

"Nothing."

"Alright. If you hear from him, let him know I'm with Erica. I'll call him on my way over there actually."

"Ready grandpa?" Lauren said, holding a family size bag of popcorn and a bag of Watermelon candy in the other.

"Squish, I had smaller bags in there. Why do you have the big one?"

She pouted.

"Grandpa said we share."

"The popcorn can stay. Go get the smaller bag of the candy."
