Refresher

Just in case you need a little recap of The Drug In Me (the first book in this series, be sure to read it before this! ):

Ryker is fucked up, troubled, haunted, anything bad that you can imagine, has probably happened to her.

She was beaten and raped by an authority figure in her life, known only as Him, (later revealed to be named John Hastings) and tortured for years. She was in juvy/rehab and prison, and when she gets free, she somehow manages to capture Ronnie Radke's attention. Maybe it's the way she was arrogant and smooth, or how she managed to keep cool through his teasing-for the most part.

She becomes a merch girl for Falling In Reverse and gets closer and closer to Ronnie.

But then He comes back and her torture continues. Ronnie starts to notice the bruises and cuts, and drama ensues. He hits Ronnie with a car and kidnaps Ryker, and she is kept in a pit underground in the woods for months.

She manages to escape, and reunites with Ronnie and the rest of Falling In Reverse.

She thinks her troubles may finally be over, but she is wrong. So wrong.

It's one thing to have another person hurting you-it hurts, but you can escape them, kill them, get them in jail, all of that.

But when the person hurting you is yourself, it's a whole nother story. You can't escape from yourself, not forever.
