A Christmas Hex

Leaving my bedroom I came face to face with Jacob and Hayley. She was holding baby Andrea in her arms when I raised a brow at her. "Hey guys, I thought we weren't on speaking terms anymore."

"Considering it is Christmas I decided to let Jaobc see you. We are family and our kids should know one another. I'll be downstairs when you two want to join." Hayley left my brother and I alone in the hallway.

Running my fingers through my hair I didn't know what to say to him. "Uh, can I offer you a drink or something?"

"What you can do is tell me what is going on between you and Hayley. She refused to tell me why and she just leaves me in the dark." He responded back leaning against the railing.

Crossing my arms over my chest I didn't feel like having this conversation today. "Jacob, now isn't a good time for ridiculous drama. I'm going to go."

Before I could walk away he gently took a hold of my wrist. "Rae Rae, wait please. Just talk to me for a second."

"You need to be talking to the mother of your child, not me." Yanking my hand out of his I snapped my tongue. "She's the one who kidnapped my children and claims it was to protect them. I don't parent Andrea and she shouldn't make decisions for me!"

Jacob slumps his shoulders. "Rae, look I'm sorry that she did that, but we are siblings. We were supposed to be there for each other."

"And we are. I just don't have to look out for her ass." Tuning on my heels I vamped out of the room closing the door in his face since we had moved into my bedroom. Nik had given me my necklace back so I had access to my magic again.

Yet he opened the door harshly with his own magic chasing after me as fast as his human body would allow him. "Don't walk away from me, sis. We need to make this right."

"Like I said I don't want to talk about it on Christmas - ugh." I suddenly froze when I glanced over my shoulder seeing he was siphoning the magic from the wall. "You've got to be kidding me."

"Are you going to talk with me or am I keeping you there?" He asked with a half hopeful smile.

"You realize I can break out of this right?"

"Yeah I know. But give me a chance." He sighed knowing I was stronger.

Nodding my head I felt him lower the spell so I could walk towards him. "So let me tell you exactly what happened that day. I was forced to be daggered for the first time ever in my immortal life. Honestly I didn't think it was possible but apparently it is since I wear a ring linking me to Nik's spirit. Anyway on top of that Hayley Marshall decided that the best way to protect my children was to take them without even asking me. I dare ask you once more Jacob what about that means I should forgive her?"

"Raelyn, look I can't undo the pain she caused you. But she's right that we need to come together. Cause...I don't want my nightmares to come true." He sniffed through tears which made me confused and concerned.

Knitting my brows together I looked up at him. "Nightmares, when did they start?"

"Uh when that woman named Dahlia showed me at the bayou I think." He stutters.

Offering my open palms for him to take, I sent him a calm glance. "Show me, J."

"What do I say?" He asked not knowing all the spells I did.

Clicking my tongue he placed his hands in mine where I gasped seeing our hands turn red together siphoning off of my magic. "Repeat after me. Dic mihi, hva du vet."

"Andrea, please don't hurt her. She's your aunt!" Jacob cried out when his daughter was holding a stake over my heart with my body laying on the ground.
