As Rory reached detention on the Monday she wasn't happy to find Harry there as well.

"What the hell Harry" She snapped.

"Rory what are you doing here" He looks at her surprised to see her there.

"Detention I got two weeks worth not one now I thought you was meant to avoid getting more"

"I'm sorry I slipped up" He says as he knocks the door. The detention went the same way as all the others with Harry being allowed to leave a couple of hours before Rory. The cut on the back of her hand was now refusing to heal and was stinging with every small movement of her hand. The following day Harry had left detention at the same time as Rory. It was nearly midnight when they entered the Gryffindor common room, the bandage Rory had placed on Harry's hand had nearly soaked threw with the blood and she kept her hand hidden in her pocket. They had expected the common room to be empty when they returned, but found Ron and Hermione had sat up waiting.

"Here," Hermione said anxiously, pushing a small bowl of yellow liquid toward Harry as Rory started heading to her dorm, "soak your hand in that, it's a solution of strained and pickled murtlap tentacles, it should help. Wait Rory you too" Harry placed his bleeding hand in the bowl.

"I'm fine Hermione I'm just going to head to bed"

"Rory it'll help I promise" Harry said looking at his sister.

"It's fine Harry, It doesn't really hurt that bad" That was a lie but she didn't care she couldn't let Harry see how much worse her hand was than his. She headed up to her dorm and into the bathroom to wash some of the blood from her hand. The words 'I am an abomination of nature and I need to respect the Ministry' now permanently scarred on the back of her hand. As the final detention arrived Rory was glad to have it over finally but she knew this wasn't going to be the end of Umbridge giving her detentions. Neither twin knew that she was still in detention and she'd made Harry, Ron and Hermione keep quiet about it to them. Harry had finished his last detention an hour before her.

"Hand" Rory held her hand out for Umbridge as she grabbed it in hers. Rory managed not to wince from Umbridge's hand touching hers. "It looks to me as if the message has finally sunk in. Very good. You may go" Rory grabbed her bag and left Umbridge's office wrapping her hand with a bandage from in her pocket although the blood soaked threw within seconds.

The morning of the Hogsmeade visit dawned bright but windy. After breakfast Rory headed off with both sets of twins and Lee with their first stop being Zonko's before they had to head to the Hog's Head to hear what Hermione had to say. Isaac and Logan were the only Slytherins that had been invited. They turned up a side street at the top of which stood a small inn. A battered wooden sign hung from a rusty bracket over the door, with a picture upon it of a wild boar's severed head leaking blood onto the white cloth around it. The sign creaked in the wind as they approached. It was not at all like the Three Broomsticks, whose large bar gave an impression of gleaming warmth and cleanliness. The Hog's Head bar comprised one small, dingy, and very dirty room that smelled strongly of something that might have been goats. The bay windows were so encrusted with grime that very little daylight could permeate the room, which was lit instead with the stubs of candles sitting on rough wooden tables. The floor seemed at first glance to be earthy, though as they stepped onto it Rory realised that there was stone beneath what seemed to be the accumulated filth of centuries. They spotted Harry, Ron and Hermione at one of the tables as others started arriving. First came Neville with Dean and Lavender, who were closely followed by Parvati and Padma Patil with Cho and one of her usually giggling friends, then on her own and looking so dreamy that she might have walked in by accident Luna Lovegood; then Katie Bell, Alicia Spinnet, and Angelina Johnson, Colin and Dennis Creevey, Ernie Macmillan, Justin Finch-Fletchley, Hannah Abbott, and a Hufflepuff girl with a long plait down her back; three Ravenclaw boys Rory was pretty sure were called Anthony Goldstein, Michael Corner, and Terry Boot; Ginny, followed by a tall skinny blond boy with an upturned nose whom Rory recognised vaguely as being a member of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team
