Under the shade of the royal Poinciana, I stood one foot away from Bondita, holding her arms. We became the witness of a paradox called blabbering silence. Every part of our body including the excited skin spoke, but not the mouth. Perhaps, we were so aware of each other's mind that I started questioning the validity of reducing the existence of our love to mere words. For, all the words in the language sound lifeless and void before this enormous euphoric sweet feeling called love.

Yet, this silence can at times be an eternal trap, to misguide and mislead a mad lover, making him turn deaf to the emotions of his partner. So, words are essential. They are needed to lighten the heart that has got heavy and overwhelming. It was necessary for us to speak our hearts out, to close that gap of one foot between us.

"Bondita", I took her name lovingly with all my heart, "These days I speak too much and you very less. Why is that? Are you angry? If so, then scold me, shout at me, argue or question, I won't mind; because I always do things that deserve a fight back. Whatever, just don't be upset."

"I apologize for everything, for flirting with those women, for hurting your feelings.", I said holding my ears, "Trust me, they are all like my sisters. I was not actually......"

"I know, sakha babu", she finally spoke, "You were acting to make me jealous, so that I will express my love for you. Isn't it?"

I nodded. "How do you know?"

She laughed as her eyes became wet. "I know it because every time it is you get into trouble to bring me into the right track."

"What kind of trouble?"

"You think I don't know how difficult it must have been for you to put an act of a playboy leaving your decency behind? Is it easy to make up so many lies spontaneously for a person who always speaks truth?"

"Bonditaa...", I emotionally uttered, "how could you..."

"And who is responsible for putting you in such an awkward situation? I am. Don't know how...how I always end up troubling you, when all that I want is your well-being. Due to this reason, I was angry with myself. I blew up my cheeks with too much air as a punishment. Meanwhile you came..."

"And pained your cheeks. Stupid girl. Whom are you doing all this for, this Anirudh, who always makes you cry and gives you a chance to complain?", I asked. "This Anirudh is not so good to deserve..."

She put her finger on my lips to silence me. "Shhh...no bad words for yourself."

"Isn't it the truth?", I said, "I have always behaved like a tyrant and never cared about your feelings. I took every single decision of your life without asking what you want. I broke you into pieces many times with my foolish acts and always played with your emotions. I have only made mistakes in our relationship and I don't know with what audacity I am standing before you to propose. May be I don't deserve you. I think.."

"Will you even stop it, sakha babu?", Bondita spoke loudly, "You are not a tyrant but a kind gentleman. You took the decisions of my life because I was a child and don't know what is right for myself. If you didn't encourage me to study, how will I know that a path of such kind even exists?

Every child makes issues for going to school, for studying, why even for eating. Do you think mothers will leave things to their choice? Suppose if a mother gives her child a choice to choose between vegetable stew and roshogulla what will the child choose? Will he go for the vegetable stew as it is a healthier option? Never! Similarly, if you haven't taken my life into your control, I should have been like an aimless kite. In fact, I shouldn't have had any life."
