Emily swallowed seawater, choking. "Daddy!"
She fought to keep her head above the water. She could hear him behind the rocks, but she couldn't see through the darkness. "Daddy! HEEEREEEE!"
The water sloshed over her. She struggled to the surface, gasping for air, the muddy sandy quicksand pulling her down.
