Emily held two of the Seven Swords of Diya, stepping forward in a challenge. "Listen you bastard spirits!"

Indy swallowed, remembering the apkallu's threats against his family. Specifically his daughter Emily: "We want her as a sacrifice... like in the Temple of Doom.... My... she's fiesty. I may not kill her right away."

His voice quickened as he blocked his daughter from stepped forward. "Emily... what are you doing?"

She blinked in shock, looking stunningly like Marion. "Dad, you don't run from fear. You challenge it. That's what you taught me. And if the legends are true... I know one that's gonna shut these ugly monsters back in their place."

Indy sighed. "You do choose poorly."

"Dad - you taught me how to be a hero," Emily insisted. "Heroes always make poor choices, because its the risk of safety and defiance of a corrupt status quo masking evil as good, that creates heroes. Risk and defiance against corrupted evil are never safe choices. Heroes tear the masks off tyranny."

She faced the apkallu, grinning just like her father. "And you are nothing but ancient tyranny."
