{Patrick}

Abigail's hands are cupped over her mouth, and her eyes are wide.

She then moves her hands away from her mouth, and her jaw is dropped open completely.

Her eyes grow glossy, and a tear quickly rolls down her cheek.

Her mouth remains open, and she is truly speechless.

She nods, biting her lip, her nose crinkling up from crying.

"Yes! Yes, Patrick, yes!" She says, nodding her head, holding out her left hand for me.

A sudden wave of relief hits me.

My world changes.

In this moment, my world changes.

Abigail Quinn, the love of my life, is no longer my girlfriend.

She's my fiancée.

She's going to be my wife.

The wave of excitement and happiness hits me all at once, and I channel all of my emotions into one action:

Slipping the ring on her finger.

I take the ring from the soft, velvet box, and slip it on the fourth finger of her left hand.

It fits perfectly, and the diamond glimmers in the moonlight, as well as the lights that the boat has.

I look up at her from my one knee position, and more tears are rolling down her cheeks.

She smiles, looking at the ring.

I stand up, and look her straight in the eye.

Her eyes are full of emotion.

The brown in her eyes are deep and beautiful, and an ocean of brilliance sits within them.

Her eyes are glossy.

For a moment, we stand there, looking at each other.

We are both in shock.

But within a few seconds, she smiles largely and starts laughing.

I laugh with her, and before I know it, she's jumped into me, wrapping her legs around my waist.

I hold her up by her thighs, and she laughs between tears.

"Oh my God, Patrick!" She squeals, sniffling into my neck.

I hold her tightly, closing my eyes as my chin rests on her shoulder.

"I love you so much." I whisper in her ear, holding her tightly.

She sniffles, before moving away from me slightly.

I don't put her down, but she looks me in the eye.

She places her hands on either of my cheeks, her touch gentle.

"I had no idea..." She says, a tear rolling down her cheek.

She smiles.

"That was the plan." I laugh, biting my lip.

She breathes out, part-laugh, part-cry and then pulls me in.
