Link POV

Monday has come and Rhett and I are getting ready to make another commercial for a local business. Rhett and I meet at our office and start thinking of ideas for a new commercial. Soon after we get off topic and we get to talking about more personal things.

"So Link, how was your night with Sarah?"

"It was definitely.... eventful."

"What happened? Did you tell her?"

"No but I kissed her."

"Well at least you did something" he chuckled.

"Yeah but now she's acting all weird about it. The next morning I woke up to the phone ringing. I go towards the kitchen to get breakfast and she's on the phone with her friend Maddie."

"Oh?"

"She was talking about me and the kiss."

"What did she say, dude?"

"She said that she liked it. She also said that she loves me."

"Well that's good, man. Now you just have to tell her how you feel."

"Yeah but she didn't tell me face to face. I want to wait until she tells me in person. I don't want to be rude and tell her I overheard her conversation."

"I didn't think of that. Good point."

"Yeah..... How would I even do that once I'm ready to tell her?"

"I have a friend you can talk to. Her name is Rebecca. She's really good with relationship advice. She even helped me and Jessie out a couple of times."

"Okay. Maybe I should talk to her."

"I'll give her a call and see if she can come by the office later."

"Great. Thanks Rhett."

Sarah POV

I think today's the day I should talk to Link about everything that happened. I think Maddie was right. I should've just said it the first time I saw him. Maybe I should go surprise Link at work. I think he would like that.

15 minutes later.....

I come to his office and I walk inside. I see him in his office hugging and talking to another woman. I couldn't hear what they were talking about. He was whispering so I couldn't make out what he was saying.

Why was he being all secretive? Who is she? I've never met her before. I don't think I like this very much. I just have to keep calm and go over and talk to him. No big deal, right?

"Uh hey Link. Can I talk to you for a second?"

"Oh hey Sarah. Yeah sure."

He then gives the girl another hug and tells her that he'll call her later. I can't believe it. Why would he do this to me after what happened this weekend? Did it mean nothing to him?

Tears start to form in my eyes and I don't know what to do. All I know is I have to get out of here. Am I jealous or something? Do I even have a reason to be? I mean we kissed. That was it. So then why do I feel so betrayed?

I mean she is pretty. Much prettier than me, but would he do that to me?

Oh, I don't know. I'd rather not find out. I don't know where I'll go but anywhere else is better than here. I drive off with tears in my eyes not looking back.

Link POV

I see Sarah and say hello. I thank Rebecca for introducing herself to me and I tell her that I'll call her later. A few seconds later I see Sarah run off crying out of the corner of my eye.

"Sarah! Wait! Come back! Please! I wanted to talk to you!"

I tried to get her attention but it was too late. She already ran off. I have to go after her. I have to find out why she ran off.

The first place I look is her house. I look in her bedroom, her bathroom, her kitchen, her living room; everywhere. She is nowhere to be seen. I then go across the street to Rhett's house to see if Jessie saw her.

"No I haven't. Sorry Link."

"Oh. It's okay Jess. I just really need to talk to her. Do you have any idea as to where she could've gone?"

"Hmmmmm.... Well maybe she left a clue at her house. It's always a possibility that she left one and you missed it while looking for her."

"Good idea Jessie. Do you want to come help me look? It'll be faster if you do."

"Sure Link. Anything to help find Sarah."

We go search her house again. I look through every picture and paper in the entire house... nothing. About a half hour later I hear "Link! I found something!"

I walk over to where Jessie is in the kitchen. She's holding a picture of Sarah and I from years ago. I take it from her and look at it. At first, I smile because I never knew she kept all of these old pictures of us. On the back it read "Went back to where it all began."

This picture is from when we were kids. Wait. She went back to Buies Creek? Why? She has nobody there.

I sit on her couch wondering why she just left without saying anything. A little while later it hits me.  I have to go after her. There has to be something I can do to make things better.

I have to tell her I love her. I just have to say it. I don't know why I hesitated so much. I mean, I always have loved her. She IS the reason I'm not married after all.

I told her I haven't found the right girl but that wasn't true. I did find her. I had her beside me the entire time. I just didn't realize it until it was too late.
