"Oh God" I say and hug her tightly. Kenzie had told Gracie and I last year she was gay. We didn't look at her any different, and she seemed happier after she told us. Like she lifted a weight off her life that was holding her down. "It's so nice to meet you. Kenzie told us about you" I say and step back. "This is Gracie" I say and they hug.
"Hi, it's nice to meet you Miranda. This is my fiancé, Tom, and our friends, Jay and Dylan. Dylan is-"
"Kenzie's twin. She spoke very highly of you" Miranda offered a smile to him.
"I'd like to say the same, but I didn't know that... well..." Dylan stuttered.
"It's fine. I didn't think she had. I understand. I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Your speech was really lovely, Sammy" Mirada said to me.
"Thank you. It was a pleasure meeting you, Miranda. Finally" I hugged her again, and she was gone.
"Why didn't Kenzie ever tell me..." Dylan said, more to himself.
"Dyl, she only came out to us last year. She was nervous as hell about it, too. I guess she just wasn't sure how you'd take it" Gracie said, smiling at him. He sighed and nodded.
"Fair enough. Come on, let's go to dinner" Dylan said. "I'll find Fletcher and meet you in the car" he adds and left in another direction. We got into the sleek black limo waiting for us, and Dylan and Fletcher joined us soon after. "Mom and dad are going in a different car. They'll meet us at the restaurant" Dylan says. With my luck, I was stuck sitting next to Fletcher for the next twenty minutes.

Make that time forty minutes stuck next to him. The traffic tonight was horrible, making us arrive twenty minutes late. We walked into the restaurant and saw Mr and Mrs Parker sitting at a table for eight. We joined them, me sitting across from Fletcher and next to Tom and Dylan, Mr Parker next to Dylan on the end, Mrs Parker across from him, then Jay next, Fletcher ahead of me, and finally, Tom across from Gracie.
We ordered and ate, talking and telling Mr and Mrs Parker stories from the summer in the Hamptons we just got back from a week ago.
"Oh, what about when Dylan totally screwed up when trying to pick up a girl" I laughed, sides hurting.
"Hey, that was an honest mistake. His hair looked very feminine!" he argued, amused.
"Sure, Dyl. Whatever gets you to sleep at night" Gracie laughed. "What about when Sammy puked after that date, with- ow" she yelped when I elbowed her.
"I told you not to bring that up! Talk about embarrassing" I chuckle, the others laughing at the memory.
"It was hilarious! She had food poisoning, right" Jay started telling Mr and Mrs Parker, and I watched Fletcher, who was eating and smiling amused at the stories. For some reason, his smile faltered while Jay told the story. "Bad fish or whatever. So, when she got back, she started throwing up, and thenext morning blamed it on how bad the date was instead of the food" he laughed, everyone joining in, but Fletcher's was forced. It was obvious.
"Yeah, she preferred her date with Jake better" Gracie wiggled her eyebrows.
"Hey!" I gasped. "I never went on a date with Jake!" I exclaim, amused.
"Dude, it's so obvious he's head over heels for you" Dylan rolled his eyes, grinning.
"Dude, he isn't. He's got a girlfriend here anyway!" I defended. Every summer we've spent it in the Hamptons, Jake joining out group. The rest of the 'Hamptons gang' as I've called them, haven't been back for a summer yet. Lola came back a couple years ago, and of course, I still keep in touch with everyone.
"You said yourself he used to have a crush on you" Dylan argued, sticking his tongue out at me.
"Yeah, used to" I emphasised. "Anyway. My horrible dates have nothing on Tom's fake job" I snickered, and we went into the story about his fake job offer.

"So, Fletcher. Are you staying with the boys?" Mrs Parker asked him when our dessert arrived.
"Uh, no, I didn't want to intrude, and there's not enough room anyway. I'm staying at the Empire Hotel" he said. ((A/N: don't know if this is an actual hotel, got it from Gossip Girl))
"Oh, how lovely. We're staying there too" she said, smiling. "You can share a cab with us" she added and he nodded.
We all headed out half an hour after, us back to mine and Gracie's loft and the other three went to their hotel.
"You guys can stay here the night" I say when we walk inside.
"Thanks Sammy" Jay says. I get the spare pillows and blankets for them while they pulled the fold-out beds out, which were hidden in the couches. There were only two. Tom always sleeps with Gracie, so there wasn't any issue on space.
"Goodnight guys" I say and trot to my room, feeling sleepy. It's about 10:30pm, as we had stayed at dinner for a long time. I slipped into my pyjamas and got into bed, the soft snores of the three boys in our loft comforting me.
