Recap:

"I was going to wait for a really romantic, cheesy moment to do this, but I guess a car is good enough" he says and looks to me. Not taking his eyes from mine, he took my hands in his. "Sammy" he started, nerves taking over his features. "Willyoubemygirlfriend?" he rushed out. I almost misunderstood what he said.
"Fletcher..."

I looked into his nervous eyes, which were searching mine desperately. A smile found it's way onto my face and I leant across and kissed him.
"Yes, I would love to be your girlfriend" I grin. He smiled foolishly and kissed me once more.
"Come on, we better get inside... Girlfriend" he says, the smile never leaving his face. I smiled and got out of his car. He rushed around and grabbed my hand.
"Slow down, boyfriend" I giggled as he practically ran inside.
When we walked in, the noise of chatter and laughter filled my ears. I almost felt betrayed, that they could all act so giddy when my father wasn't even buried yet, but it would be hypocritical, because I feel like I'm on top of the world right now, holding Fletcher's hand, smiling like a small schoolgirl with her first boyfriend. He did that to me, though. He took me back to when we first dated, when we were younger. With Fletcher, I couldn't help but feel infinite.
"Sammy!" Gracie called out, smiling when we walked out the back. I let go of Fletcher's hand with a smile and met her halfway, when she pulled me away from everyone to the side of the house. I knew what was coming next. "Explain. Everything" she said, eyes twinkling.
"Well, we uh, have been kind of sleeping together for a while now, and about ten minutes ago, he asked me to be his girlfriend" I grinned. She squealed silently, clapping her hands.
"Did you say yes?" she asked. Is she serious? I laughed.
"Gracie, of course I said yes!" I say, and she had that realisation, 'oohh' moment. To which I laughed again.

"Have a safe trip. Love you all" I say to the gang. They waved as they backed out of my driveway and drove away. I had bought them all back to my old house, which thankfully, was still in my family's name. Mom was going to sell it, but she thought it might be useful to me, so we kept it.
"Come on, I want to take you out for dinner" Fletcher said, taking my hand.
"Okay, just let me get my bag" I grin and run back into the house. Fletcher and I were going home tomorrow morning. It's now about 4:30, and the afternoon sun was beaming, the sky and clouds slowly turning pink and orange as it slowly set.
"Where are we going?" I ask as we got into his car.
"A surprise" he smirked, and we left.
"Just tell me" I pleaded as he drove down my street.
"Patience, Sammy. You'll see soon enough" he chuckled.
