Is a wizard with no magic a wizard? Especially when past stands between him and each spell.
The only student at Hogwarts with no magical abilities at all Lee Taeyong is fed up of being the laugh of the school, so he decides to challenge the most po...
The morning came and Taeyong sneaked into the great hall, he didn't want to meet Jaehyun so he took place at the wall where he could hide between the food bowls. Taeil was right beside him revising astronomy while Yuta was staring at Sicheng hopelessly through the table. Taeyong glanced across the hall to the Ravenclaw table, and to his horror saw Jaehyun who was sitting next to Vanessa and Doyoung, the girl was cuddling to him and Jaehyun let her, he wore this confident smile again and Taeyong tensed. He knew it was a play, a humiliation, nothing more, just a kiss, it never mattered and he clenched his fists.
"Taeyong," a girl came to him and he looked up. "This is for you."
She passed him a note he grabbed quickly, so headmaster Chen wanted to see him again.
"Thanks," he muttered hiding the paper.
"Ah! Is Vanessa, Ravenclaw's seeker dating Jaehyun?" asked Taeil when the girl left.
"Who? What?" Taeyong blinked. "Oh they're dating," he said feeling glowing lava in his insides.
It should be him not her cuddling to Jaehyun and feeding him grapes... no he should learn some spells and kick his ass.
"What..." Taeil went a little pale. "I thought she has better taste," he tensed.
"Do you like her?" Taeyong looked at him.
"No of course not," Taeil blushed and disappeared behind his book.
Taeyong smiled to himself opening the roll of parchment.
'Tonight 7 p.m., my office.'
The boy hid the message again and glanced up, but in this moment Hannah stopped next to his table.
"Hi, how are you?" she asked winking.
"Ok," Taeyong swallowed.
It was hard for him to look at her, the awkwardness of the kiss became so vivid.
"So would you like to hang out after lessons?" she asked.
"Oh I'm busy today," Taeyong tried to be polite. "Maybe another time."
"Sure, ok," she turned around and left.
"Your girlfriend?" asked Taeil turning to him.
"No of course not," Taeyong tried to play it cool.
"I heard you're gay," Taeil closed his book.
"This... what, from who?" Taeyong nearly jumped up.
"Remember the ball in third year, you mistakenly drunk Rosmerta's honey instead of butterbeer, and got so drunk you tried to kiss me, fortunately I jinxed you before," Taeil giggled.
"This... this was you!" Taeyong shouted and closed his mouth.
"Yes," Taeil took his books and moved up, he tapped the boy's shoulder and walked out of the hall while Yuta choked on his rice from laughter.
It was a long day, Taeyong did his best to avoid Jaehyun, fortunately they didn't have any class together so he only saw him two times in corridors, each caused him to take shelter in bathrooms or empty class rooms.
Yuta started to wonder why he's acting so strange but Taeyong couldn't tell him.
It was 7 p.m. when he cleared his mind of Jaehyun and knocked to the headmaster's office, he heard a loud "Come in" and the door opened. The office looked like it did hundreds of years ago, and the Phoenix was sleeping in it's spot. Headmaster Chen was a young man with clever eyes and deeply black hair. He was energetic, he became the youngest headmaster in Hogwarts's history because of his amazing skills. He could have this job or the one of the Minister of Magic but he chose Hogwarts.
"Hello, how are you my friend?" he asked and Taeyong sighed.
"Ok," he lied.
"You look tired," Chen offered him a chocolate frog he took and ate quickly.
If you had your first kiss with a girl you hate and during the same day was kissed by your crush, you would be more than tired, thought Taeyong.
"So I suspect another boggart, the news says it's in the basement of Weasley's Joke Shop," said the headmaster.
"Should I?" Taeyong stuttered.
"Go there tonight, take the cloak and the map, you know the secret passage to Hogsmeade, that leads to this basement, it's also really important to check for all possible traces, it's a way to the school so we need to be even more careful," headmaster Chen seemed tense.
"These are just boggarts," whispered Taeyong.
"Listen, I've got the news that will be everywhere tomorrow, the Sorcerer of Abra escaped Azkaban. He is the most dangerous wizard of our times, so we need to be double careful. He had friends who helped him out, and these boggarts are just the first phase, they must confuse people, release fear," the headmaster spoke and Taeyong trembled.
He heard about the sorcerer who had been caught when he has been a child.
"That's what Taeil says," muttered Taeyong quietly.
"Taeil is a very smart young man, that's why I want you to ask your friends for help. Tell them about the mission, take them with you, you can use their help," the man concentrated on his face.
"Because I can't do any spell," Taeyong's cheeks got red. "I'm a squib."
"You're not a squib, you have power deeply inside you it just needs a trigger that will release it," Chen pointed at his chest. "It's there."
Taeyong swallowed, if it's there it never showed itself so far.
"Ok I'll ask them to come," said Taeyong.
"Great, on our next meeting let me know what you found out," Chen smiled a little then nodded.
Taeyong said bye and made his way back to the common room, there he asked the boys to gather around a table in the corner.
The Quidittch team made a loud game and this were perfect conditions to talk secretly.
"The headmaster wants me to take you with me tonight," said Taeyong leaning closer because he was whispering.
"Where?" Taeil tensed.
"I'm on a mission, I'm hunting down boggarts," said Taeyong.
"I knew that," Taeil crossed his arms.
