"Silence," said the minister opening the hearing, then two people were lead in a man and a woman both sitting on the chairs with extra chains with their heads held up high and proudly.
They weren't like Renjun at all, not even the slightest similarity and Taeyong wondered if it's the right choice the to be here but then he remembered Renjun crying into him when he had visited him and all his doubt faded.
"Jaehyun Black what are you doing here?" asked the minister turning to the boy in the council member chair.
"I'm jumping in for my family members, my grandfather isn't feeling well, as you know he's very very old," said Jaehyun with a wide grin.
Taeyong tried not to laugh too loud in his chair, really?
"And my aunt is visiting her relatives in Romania so sadly she couldn't be here."
Taeyong was stunned how Jaehyun could lie to the minister without even a single grimace on his face.
Could he lie to him lake that too?
"Concentrate on your purpose of being here," said headmaster Chen causing Taeyong to lower his head to not to look at Jaehyun's show as it was making him so mad.
"Ok let's move on, the hearing of Jin and Aliah Huang accused of being Death Eaters," the minister stood up.
A rumor filled the room when the tow were looking at the minister as if they were amused.
"Ok so let the defence witnesses speak first," the minister sat down while a very old man entered the room.
"It will be a long day," said headmaster Chen.
Demokrit, Taeil's owl raised up into the cloudy sky carrying a letter, he wished to have wings to follow with his message. He had no idea where Boccamadil was or if she was still alive, each morning he breathed in deeper when he couldn't find any bad news in the Prophet. Her last letter had come two weeks ago, it was very short, her handwriting rushed.
'I'm fine, Don't worry, keep warm, miss you, love your, your flower,' that's all.
Ok, maybe he was an idiot for choosing this path of suffering, he wondered from time to time when he was watching Vanessa and Johnny walking down the corridors holding hands. But from the other side Boccamadil was the key to it all. Taeil was rethinking her memories all the time looking for the missing piece, as he had no courage to ask headmaster Chen if he could use his pensive and breaking into the headmaster's office wouldn't be right. But he knew he had overseen it in the rush of that emotional night, in the horrible news, in the way she made him feel.
He left the owlery to bump into Vanessa on the stairs his insides twisted she looked up at him her face became ghostly pale.
"Sorry," muttered Taeil pressing to the wall to let her through while she run upstairs quickly so he hurried the opposite way.
He reached the corridor ready to hide in the depths of the library as Taeyong was on the hearing, Mark was busy with Herin, Sicheng with Yuta and Renjun had probably curled up in his bed in his dorm to cry as he hasn't seen him during breakfast.
He rushed his steps when someone said his name causing him to stop.
'Taeil! It's Taeil right?" he turned around to spot Hailey, she was out of breath.
"Yes," he said hoping she will make it quick he didn't want to risk bumping into Vanessa again.
"Sorry to bother you but I know you're very good with potions and spells," she said coming closer.
"I'm not giving tutoring," said Taeil his voice way sharper than he intended.
"Oh no it's just, forget," she turned around.
"Hailey wait! Sorry I had a bad day, what is it?" asked Taeil causing her to stop.
"Oh it's stupid but the kitten I really love to play with is sick, there's a kitten in the Slytherin common room, no one knows who it belongs too but it's very cute," she said causing the hair on Taeil's body to raise from fear.
"What do you mean sick?" he asked.
"Look, there's something wrong with it," Hailey opened the her jacket fishing the kitten out causing Taeil to breath in sharply.
"It... I'll see what's up with him," whispered Taeil taking Renjun carefully out of her hands caressing over his fur.
"I found it last night it seemed bad, but it's getting worse, it didn't want to eat or even drink milk and water I had brought from breakfast," said Hailey her tone worried.
Taeil trembled he was caressing behind Renjun's ears hoping it will help.
"I'll take care of him don't worry," he said.
"Hailey!" he shivered hearing Vanessa's voice in the corridor. "I'd advice you to not to flirt with this loser, he's noting but trouble," Vanessa's green eyes laid on Taeil causing him to look away while his ex stormed down the corridor.
"Oh, everything's better than Johnny and Hansol!" shouted Hailey behind her shaking her head. "Sorry, it's just she's tiring," muttered Hailey.
"Ok," Taeil tried to be calm.
"Please help it, it's my favorite kitten," said Hailey.
"I will. Thank you for taking care of him," whispered Taeil walking back to the Gryffindor common room with Renjun in his hands.
"Taeyong is there with headmaster Chen, they will do everything to save your parents," whispered Taeil causing Renjun to shiver a little less.
He reached his bedroom to find it empty so he laid Renjun on his bed.
"You can turn back," said Taeil but Renjun only curled up shriving heavier. "Renjun please," begged Taeil caressing the fur and then it came to him Renjun couldn't turn back.
