The days returned back to normal without Isabel and Farlan. Levi and I continued with our lives. I was somewhat depressed without my friends, but it seemed Levi moved on fairly quickly. It turns out my ribs were fractured and the bones in my legs were out of order. I had to wheel myself around everywhere, but lucky for me, I had time off of training and upcoming expeditions for the next 4 months. At least that's what the doctors in the infirmary told me. There's no exact date as to when my ribs and bones will heal and retract to their normal position.
"Hey, Levi," I greet as I wheel myself up to him. He was sitting on a barrel next to the training grounds, watching everyone in hand-to hand combat.
"Hello." He replied, giving me a quick glance. His eyebrows raised "What's with the wheelchair?" He asked me.
I giggled as his silly question.
"I can't walk. My bones were fractured. The doctors said I should be okay in 4 months time, but there's no exact date."
He gave a slight nod as he turned his attention to someone yelping in pain on the training grounds.
There was a moment of silence as I stared at him. He showed no sorrow for what happened to his late friends.
"Levi? What's wrong with you?" I asked him as I rolled myself in front of him, blocking his attention from the commotion in the background.
"What do you mean?" He looked down at me.
"I mean, our friends have died. A very brutal death. Why aren't you mourning? Isabel was like your baby sister, and Farlan was like...I don't know..a brother?"
Levi didn't break his gaze. "They're dead now. There's no point in crying over something we can't do anything about. Erwin arrived shortly after I placed you in the infirmary. I was going to kill him. I was." He finally broke his hard stare from my eyes and let them droop. "-but I couldn't. He gave me a speech about the titans. He told me to kill them. To take my anger out on the filth who killed our friends."
"Levi, I'm always going to be with you, you don't need to bottle up your emotions. When they died during the expedition, I watched as you cried over Isabel. It's okay to cry" I cooed and put my hands on his shoulders.
He flicked my hands away from his shoulders.
I wish he would stop holding in his feelings...
There was another awkward silence, as a tall man suddenly startled us.
"Hey, you two! Why aren't you training in hand-to hand combat!? Get your asses on the field!" He yelled. I flinched from his voice, but Levi didn't seem phased by it.
"Sir...I don't think I'm capable in hand-to hand. My bones are fractured, and I can't stand." I set my arm on the wheelchairs rest as he took a look down at me.
"You, the commander told me you're out of commission. I'll let you slide, but you" the tall man motioned at Levi. "get your ass on the field, NOW."
Levi grunted in response and hopped off the barrel and strolled on over to the training grounds. I watched as he picked an opponent.
A very tall man with dark brown hair laughed. "You? Me and you? Not to be an ass, but I'm pretty sure I could take you on no problem. I need another opponent."
"There's nobody else to fight. You have to fight me." Levi said with his usual bored expression.
Levi was actually a very strong man. First looking at him you wouldn't expect it considering how short he is, but that man has crazy power.
"Hmph. Fine. Don't cry when you get your ass kicked" the tall man replied with a smirk and laughed. He stood in position a couple of feet away from Levi.
A couple of seconds later, and he immediately rushed at Levi.
Levi grabbed him by the uniforms collar and used his body force to push him down on his back.
The man gagged and looked up at Levi in surprise. He quickly stood back up before any officer could see how he was put down by a 5'3 short stack. The man raised his fist and this time did not charge at Levi.
Levi took the first approach and led his fist towards the man's stomach.
Oh, smart, he's acting as if he will punch his stomach. The man will cover up his gut in defense. Levi has quick reaction time, so he'll bring his other fist towards the mans face.
Which he did. The man didn't respond quickly enough, end ended up with a bloodied face.
I began to cheer Levi on from my wheelchair as he grabbed the mans face and head-butted him.
The man fell to the ground once again and groaned in agony.
Levi looked disappointed in the fight as he walked back over towards the barrel he sat on."Good fight!" I congratulated him on his win.
He clicked his tongue in response.
After a while of having a one-sided conversation with Levi, I rolled myself over toward the girls dormitory. I had a new roommate named Petra.
She seemed a lot like me. Friendly, and very pretty. We became friends immediately.
Levi told me his roommate always imitated him. He found it annoying, but he never said anything about it
I knocked gently on the door three times.
The door squeaked open to see my friend, Petra squealing at me.
"Hey, (y/n)!" She walked behind my wheelchair and rolled me inside of our dorm.
Our room was so dull. It had wood flooring and walls. There were a couple of pictures Petra had hanging on the walls of her family, and our beds were parallel to each other.
"Hi. Why are you so happy?" I asked her as I began to play with my hair.
"Well, you remember what I told you about Levi?" She began to blush.
"Um, no? You never told me anything about Levi,"
What is she talking about?
"Well, I've had this huge crush on him and ever since you guys arrived here. I don't particularly think he's my type, considering how cold he is, but I think I can change him. Basically, we had this full on conversation about random stuff!" She giggled softly
"Oh?" I don't think Levi's the type to go into romantic relationships. That's one reason why I never tried my luck with him.
Petra kept on blabbing about her and Levi and how she thought they'd be the cutest couple in the Survey Corps.
"Petra?" I interrupted her. "Can you please help me into my bed? I'm so tired."
"Oh! Sure, sure!" She held an arm under my leg and the other on my back. She grunted, "ooh, you're quite heavy" she huffed and slid me over on my bed.
"Nah, you're just weak." I teased her and she blushed. I wasn't sleepy, but I just wanted Petra to stop bothering me about Levi. I wanted to take some time to think about my life.
"Well, thanks Petra. Can you go please? I'm really tired, and I can't sleep with you towering above my bed like this." I laughed as she quickly apologized and left my dorm.
So you like Levi, huh?
