Samuel
That was a close one. Erwin should have been more thoughtful about his troops. The fucking moron wasn't even aware that the princess, of all people, was left behind. Sigh, is everyone in this regimate dumb? That Hanji girl seems to have some brain cells, but sadly she wastes them on titans, so I guess I have to call her dumb as well.
I walked around chatting with (Y/N) for the longest time since no Levi was there to interrupt.
"It's odd," I begin to say.
"What is?" She asks, looking up at me with her silver eyes.
"When we were still teens in the Underground, you were quite the reckless child. You seem humble now,"
She did. She used to speak arrogantly to me whenever she beat me at something, would call me an idiot whenever I did something wrong, would race me constantly until she had finally won, and then would brag. She would climb up peoples homes and then jump off, earning a wicked scar each time. Now she's quiet, she thinks thoroughly, and isn't quick to make poor judgement.
(Y/N) laughs and I smile from being the cause .
"I had to change. That reckless behavior would've gotten me killed. Besides, I'm a princess now, I've kind of got to be elegant," she says with a weak smile, "but it's the opposite for you, you know? You used to be a scardy-cat back then, but now it seems you're the reckless one."
I trace my middle finger along my lips in thought, "Am I?"
"Uh, yes. You threatened to kill Levi twice. I'm shocked you two haven't hashed it out yet."
"He threatened to kill me, too. You're leaving out important information!" I teased.
"Because you threatened to kill him." She argues.
Why was she even defending that piece of shit? The only thing good about that loser is his looks.
I roll my eyes out her response, but pull her towards me nonetheless. I set her chin on my shoulder and hug her tightly.
"Hey Sam? We're best friends right?" She asks softly.
"The bestest,"
"Then can you please try to like Levi? Just a bit? I don't want the men I care for most in my life to hate each other"
It was a little too late for that. Levi and I's relationship was past the point of ever being healed. It had become a ritual to throw glares and insults at each other whenever we saw one another.
Levi is a thorn in my ass. He's the only one here that can ruin my plan, and I've got to erase him before it's too late.
"Sure, (Y/N)," I lie and hug her more. She smiles like a child and hugs me back, wrapping her tiny arms around my neck.
She releases first, so I reluctantly follow suit.
I don't want (Y/N) getting upset with me, so perhaps I will play kind with dear Levi until I have a chance to strike.
"Why do you like Levi anyway? What the hell has that piece of shit done for you?" I ask as I place her hands within mine.
We walk around the camp multiple times. We had withdrew rather down the course in hopes for no titans to return.
"W-well, because he um..cares for me..and stuff."
"I care for you. What's the difference between him and I?" I was genuinely curious for her answer.
"Well...um...you know...we've known each for a long time. Been through a lot."
"So have we."
"Uh-um, well, I don't know! I guess it's like a strong force pulling me to him. He said he felt the same way."
