After the fall of Wall Maria, we had lost over 2,000 citizens and over 300 soldiers to the titans. We managed to retreat the citizens into Wall Rose while the Military Police began to reconstruct the wall that would take a while to fix.

The Scout Regiment could no longer reside in the headquarters located within Wall Maria, so we too, also had to retreat into Wall Rose. The new base was a lot like our old one, but a tad bit bigger, and was decorated a little differently. Despite the camp being bigger, the barracks we slept in were a lot smaller, meaning we'd had to share with at least four other people.

Lev-I mean...Captain..Levi and Section Commander Hanji Zoë were given rewards for their dedication towards humanity. They've been here the same amount of months(only 5 and a half months..by the way!) and were already  highly respected among our fellow cadets.

Knock, knock.

"State your name and business" I hadn't talked to, Heichou, as Petra would say in quite some time. He seemed to always be busy with paperwork and training the newbies to bother with me.

"(Y/N) (L/N), sir. I wished to talk to you." I announced myself loudly.

"Come in." I heard Levi's deep voice from the other half of the door.

I opened the door slowly, and spotted Levi behind his desk working on a stack of paperwork.  He had been giving his own new personal office that he kept spotless.

Typical, Levi..

I walk over towards a chair that stood in front of his desk, and sat in it and watched him do his paperwork. He glanced up at me.

"Tch, stop staring at me."

It was only then I recognized my feelings for this man. I wasn't the type of girl to promote my feelings towards someone, but this man...he's different. I can sense it.  Those eyes...I can see the pain in his eyes..and I want to be the one to fix him..

"Levi..." I began to blush, but refused to take my eyes off of him. He wasn't in uniform. Wearing a long-sleeved black v-line shirt, and I couldn't see his pants. I bore into his eyes. "You look sleepy." I change the subject before I could say anything embarrassing.

"I haven't slept for two days, so of course I am, you idiot." He rubs his eyes but returns his attention towards the paperwork. I took a quick glance at it and realized it was for the 104th cadet trainees.

"What!? Levi, you need to sleep!" I stand up immediately and scold him. I pull on his arm, but he didn't even budge. He shoves me away and rolls his eyes.

"That's Captain Levi to you, Cadet. And I couldn't sleep. Not with everything that's going on. I need to put others before myself in situations like this."

"Shut up. I've known you since you were nothing but a thug in the Underground. You're still Levi to me." I gain a sudden surge of strength, and pull him out of the chair, but Levi weighs a lot more than me, so his body force collided with mine causing me to fall on the ground with him on top.

"Agh. Crap." I groan at the pain and Levi's weight on top on me.

I look up to see Levi's faced burrowed between my breast, and I blush furiously.

"Ca-Captain!? Get up!" I push from out under him, but the strength I was given had abandoned me, and I once again felt completely weak and hopeless.

His shiny, black hair fell onto my chest and he grunted softly before immediately pulling himself back up.

"Oh by the walls!" I heard a females voice shriek. Levi and I both looked towards the noise and my jaws dropped.

"H-Hanji!" I shout and stand up and salute quickly, ignoring the pain I felt on my lower back from the fall.

Hanji stood by the door and began to laugh hysterically to the point actual tears came out of her eyes.

"You know, I never mentioned it, but I knew you two had the eyes for each other. Short-stack and Shorty, eh?" She says as she walks up to both of us.

Levi let's out a low growl and scowls.

"Get the fuck out of my office, four-eyes. The hell did you even come here for?" Levi crosses his arms in front of his chest.

I look down at my boots in shame and embarrassment.

"Well, I was looking for Short-Stack. She wasn't in the barracks, so I came to your office thinking you'd know where she'd be. I'm not the person to knock, so I thought I'd let myself in, and I find short-stack and shorty all cuddled up!" She laughs again.

"W-what did you need from me, h-Hanji?" I stutter and begin to mess with my hair nervously.

Levi returns to his paperwork, ignoring Hanji and I.

"Well! Do you remember a while back when you came to me asking about your hair, eyes, and your weight?" She smiles.

"Um. Yeah?"

"Call me crazy, but I did multiple tests, and the outcome came out the same---

Untestable! I can't test it. There's something wrong. Something I'm missing. I need you to tell me any other variables that could contribute to the testing. Let me see your hair and your eyes." Hanji walks over towards me and begins to check me out, scanning for any details she missed last time or any new details that have popped up.

"I feel a lot...stronger." I say as she lifts my arms and squeezes tightly. "Like, Levi and I went toe-to toe and I put up one hell of a fight, and you know that when Levi goes against anyone, they're usually done for in under 10 seconds." I look back at Levi and took notice that he had fallen asleep on his documents. His head snuggled within his arms and his hair partially shielding his narrow eyes.

"I see. So you've been healing faster: you recovered from serious injuries from your expedition in under a month...your hair has developed these unusual golden streaks...it seems more have popped up even. The eyes? I see the tint of silver has spread rapidly. I give it another week or so before your eye color completely changes to silver."

"What could this mean, Hanji?" I ask her as she walks back towards the door.

"I don't know, but I wouldn't worry about it. If you're healing quickly and feeling a lot stronger, it must be a good thing-" she cuts herself off as she begins to open the door. As she exits, she turns around and flashes a cheeky grin.

"-who knows? Maybe you've developed a sudden power" Hanji smirks and closes the door, leaving a snoozing Levi and I alone once more.

I focus on him and stare intently.

So cute....

I look around for something to cover him with, but find nothing. I take off my Survey Corps jacket and lay it over him.

He's sleeping..he won't feel it...

I look around waiting for someone to interrupt what I was about to do. I look down at Levi's sleeping face and blush.

Leaning down, I plant a quick kiss on his cheek, and immediately exit his office to return to my bunker.
