~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Even with the warmth of Barry's arms and bed, I still felt the weight of the world on my shoulders. I still feel like Ian's death was my fault. I still feel like crap.
So off to S.T.A.R. labs I go~
"I miss her." Cisco sighed as he spun himself in a black desk chair. I smiled, knowing he was talking about me. I told Barry not to tell anyine I was on town yet and I wanted to surprise everyone. I was currently hiding behind a door in S.T.A.R. labs. Caitlin glanced over at him for a second. As he spun, he sucked on a lollipop.
"Yeah, me too." She said, leaning against the desk Cisco was sitting by.
"Me three." I added, stepping into view. There heads shot up and they grinned with joy as they crushed me in a tight hug.
"Ma homie!" Cisco exclaimed. I lightly laughed as they pulled away.
"What time did you get back? When?" Caitlin asked with the same grin.
"Yesterday, I wanted it to be a surprise." I replied. We made chit chat. But after a while, I realized something. "Hey, I thought Barry got here before me."
"He did. He's in the cortex with Dr. Wells getting a lecture about something." Cisco answered. I nodded in understanding. Then clapped one before rubbing my hands together.
"Any new not-so-nice metahumans?" I ask. Caitlin nudged my rib from beside me.
"Don't jinx it." She said eyes wide.
"I'll take that as a no....for now." I said seconds before getting hit with a lollipop by Cisco. I glared at him as it hing from the tips of my hair. "Great, now I need a haircut."
Caitlin gladly did so, only cutting off an inch. Which wasn't at all bad. I couldn't even tell the difference.
CRIME SCENE
"Guess who's back bitches!" I announced, arriving to a crime scene. Most reacted happy. Others not so much. Probably shouldn't say that at work nor at a crime scene. Oh well.
As I pulled on gloves and an made my way towards the body, Joe and Eddie appeared on both sides of me.
"Hey kid, I missed you!" Joe said giving me a side hug as we walked. I greeted him with a smile and mumbled a queit 'me too'.
"It's nice having you back. Now I have more than one person to talk to at work when I'm bored." Eddie joked.
"So how was Chicago? Did you miss it more than you thought?" Joe asked, oblivious to how much I hate it now.
"Um, it was...okay." lies. "And nope, I do not miss it. I only miss my family." Then I thought it over, "Actually naw, I don't miss em. I got my family right here."
"Careful Destiny, you might actually sound like you care." Eddie teased. I shook my head at him and laughed. A real actual laugh, I mean I've laughed before. Like seeing Barry get scared and change emotions right away. But this laugh was different, care free and happy.
"Oh right, thanks for warning me."
I had just noticed that Joe was already standing above the body before us. So I quickened my pace and hovered over the body covered up.
"I hope you guys skipped your breakfeast." Barry said as he lifted a tarp. We all looked at the burned body that now looked like a mummy.
"Whoa." Joe said in shock. My eyes just widened and I took notes.
