Everything Hurts

I eventaully made my way to the Cortex after a while of searching for a room that looked at least familiar or recognizable. My heart jumped everytime I heard footsteps. And you wouldn't believe how many times I heard footsteps, but I saw no one. It's better than bumping into Zappy. I love that little nickname Barry made up. For some reason I found it cute and cool that Barry came up with it. I seem to be rubbing off on him.

I mentally slapped myself for going off-track. I searched the Cortex quickly, for anyone or any sign that someone was hiding in here.

Suddenly, all the lights turned on. I had to admit, that startled me. But then again, everything was doing that right now.

Fast and loud footsteps made their way to me. My breath caught in my throat as I turned around and faced Zappy himself. His eyes twinkled with excitement and danger. He stalked his way toward me, every step forward he took was one I stepped back.

"Just a hunch, but something tells me your that girl in leather that I fed from. Well guess what princess? I need more." He growled the last part.

"Don't call me that." I snapped. I had realized I couldn't back up anymore. My back was pressed against the wall. Panicking at how close he was becoming, I scanned my surroundings for anything. For some reason, my stupid brain grabbed my water bottle instead of a crowbar I put underneath my desk just in case. It felt like an instinct to grab it.

God I'm stupid. I thought. He laughed at me as electricty formed in his hands.

"What are you going to do against me with a water bottle?" He taunted.

When he shot his hand out, mine did too. The water from the bottle sprayed him and he automatically stopped what he was currently doing. The water actually worked, it messed with the electricty and his head. He seemed to grow my angry though. It had just hit that electricity and water don't do well. That wasn't the exact way to go with, but I don't have time to think.

I tried making a run for it, but he quickly recovered. His big hand caught my arm and his other hand wrapped tightly around my throat. I choked and choked on nothing, not even one speck of air flowed through my lungs. Then he lifted his hand that was currently choking me. Which caused my body to rise while my feet dangled. I felt useless. I was useless. Without my speed, I'm nothing.

I couldn't even fight back. I used my free hand to try and peel away his massive hand. But I'm still useless. Then I realized why I couldn't fight back at all, his hands were draining me and my energy. And even what was left of my speed.

A single tear shed my eye, this was it. I didn't even get to figure who I loved. Peter or Barry? It couldn't be both. That's a fact. How could someone love two people at once? Do I even love one of them? Is love the word to describe it? I haven't figured out who this man in a yellow suit is. Nor have I told anyone about Ian's dealth. Nobody will find his body. Nobody will even care that I dying and I will die. Barry has Iris. Peter had his life planned out. He's so happy and good at photography. My friends will find other people. My parents have two other children. I'll never find out who my parents are. Plus, my parents probably stopped caring about a daughter that's not even theirs the second I began to grow up. This is it.

I imagined my death better than this. Like, I die protecting someone I love. But no, here I am. Dangling. Choking. Dying.

I began to see black spots and my vision became blurry. I gave up struggling and I collapsed to the ground. I could feel my heart beat slow down, very very slow. Then my body grew tired and then I felt nothing.

My ears rang and then I heard grunting.

And I felt myself drift off but two hands pressing down on my upper chest awoke me from that. My chest was tightening I realized, and whatever, whoever was doing this was helping me.
