Just then, Sonal realized about employment work Aradhana needs to complete. 'Babes, hurry up. You got your employment work to be completed, too.' Sonal reminded her. 'Where does this come from?' Aradhana was surprised. 'You have to do this before start day of job so that you can apply for Social Security Number' Sonal gave another piece of information to Aradhana. 'There's still a week before I start my work in dining' Aradhana refreshed Sonal's memory. 'No darling, you have seventy minutes. We have to walk all the way to Student Employment Office, which is about 15 minutes away at least' Sonal swallowed last bite of her sandwich hurriedly. Crumpling the napkin into a ball, Sonal tossed the ball into the trash can considering it as a basket. Aradhana applauded slowly at Sonal's perfect shot and the guy sitting few tables away giggled softly.
Sonal tagged Aradhana along in a hustle. Aradhana ended up choking her last bite of sandwich. Aradhana coughed badly. Sonal rushed towards the fountain to refill her bottle. The guy who kept a constant tab on her offered a bottle filled with water. 'Actually my friend is getting me water. Thanks though' Aradhana declined his offer but he insisted though. Aradhana gave up eventually on his insistence. Sonal as usual came late to rescue. 'Where the hell are you going?' Ajay asked Sonal. 'For suicide. Wanna come?' Sonal taunted him. 'Do you know him?' Aradhana was confused. 'Know him? I am struck with him forever' Sonal spoke to herself beneath her breath fast and inaudible.
Sonal left the place forcefully tagging Aradhana along until they reach Student Employment Office. This vexed Ajay so much. Though Aradhana kept asking what's the matter, Sonal ignored her. Sonal helped Aradhana to finish off her employment work so that she can start her on-campus without any worry. 'Listen. A shuttle will be there in 10. Go home, take rest. I will be home around 8.' Saying so, Sonal and Ardhana parted their ways respectively.
Aradhana reached home and organized wardrobe. She unpacked her stuffs from check-in luggage which she kept pending since last 36 hours. It's already 2 in afternoon and she is exhausted after unpacking her stuffs. She mentally decided to nap for 2 hours. Waking up around 5 pm, she took a quick shower and decide to cook something delicious for dinner later.
Unlocking the door of an apartment, a strong and delightful aroma hit Sonal's nostrils. This tempted Sonal. Placing her backpack on the futon, Sonal made her way to the kitchen. Aradhana was giving a final stir to all the dishes she cooked in past 50 minutes. Sonal hugged Aradhana from back and rested her chin on Aradhana's right shoulder 'Everything looks so overwhelming!' 'Why don't you have theplas? This food is just for me' Aradhana shrugged Sonal away.
'This is just not fair, baby. You can't keep me away from such delicious food' Sonal looked towards Aradhana. 'Revenge is a dish best served cold' Aradhana said it with a wink. 'Oh. Okay. I got you. All I know is you are my best friend. You will let me have this spicy chole and veg. pulao eventually' Sonal landed a quick peck on Aradhana's right cheek. Aradhana couldn't help but smiled generously. 'By the way, it feels so much like your mother's presence. She is an exceptional cook so is her daughter' Sonal compliment Aradhana indirectly. 'Thank you God so much for sending my love to me. Hadn't you been here, I would have starved to death with that Canadian woman. So, I would like to thank you for accepting my offer to be my roommate.' Sonal added more to it. 'In case you are done with your melodramatic act, I would request you to get fresh. Meanwhile, I serve the food on plate' Aradhana emphasized the word -plate.
I am pretty sure Aradhana feels same way like her.
