Choi Youngjae X Reader

"I'm sorry I have to miss your birthday," Youngjae apologizes again through the phone.

You nibble on your bottom lip, attempting to hide your disappointment. "No it's okay, you have the concert to worry about." You respond softly.

"I'm so sorry Y/N," Youngjae apologizes again.

Tomorrow was your birthday, it would be the first birthday Youngjae would miss. You grew up as best friends with Youngjae since you were just a kid, your relationship with Youngjae eventually grew into something more a year ago. You were a little disappointed that Youngjae would be missing your birthday, but there was nothing you could do about it. His career as a kpop idol mattered more.

"It's okay," you laugh softly. "What are you boys doing right now?" You ask him, changing the topic of conversation.

Youngjae immediately responds, diving into details about the resteraunt that he and his members were visiting. You listened, but your mind wondered. A few more minutes pass and Youngjae eventually decides to end the call, claiming that he and the members needed to finish some last minute preparations for the show tomorrow. You bid your boyfriend a goodnight and hang up with a sigh. There was still a small part of you that wished he would have been able to make it for your birthday tomorrow.

"Seohyeon is cheating on her boyfriend," your best friend, Minseo, states as she sits across from you.

The both of you decided to visit Aori Ramen for lunch. Minseo claimed that she had a lot to tell you, mainly gossip, and also take you out for lunch for your birthday present from her. You agreed to meet at the ramen place at one o'clock in the afternoon.

"How do you know?" You ask curiously.

Minseo dives into details on the new gossip about your mutual friend Seohyeon. She points out obvious reasons on why everyone believes she's cheating. You listen closely, all while scanning the menu. The waiter eventually comes to take your orders. Once the both of you order he takes away your menus and leaves. Minseo pulls her phone out of her coat pocket to check it, eventually changing the topic of conversation.

"So I heard that Youngjae is performing tonight?" She asks.

You nod. "Yeah, he's going to be busy all day."

"This is the first time he'll have missed your birthday," Minseo notes.

"Yeah, but I'm fine with it. His career matters more anyway," you laugh softly.

Minseo's eyes soften at your words. "Youngjae must be so happy to have someone like you Y/N," she smiles.

"I think it's the other way around," you laugh.

The rest of the lunch carries on smoothly. Minseo pays for lunch and offers for the two of you to walk around, which you agree to. The two of you find yourselves inside a clothing store. You look at multiple shirts, studying them and deciding if you like any of them or not.

"So what are you doing tonight for your birthday?" Minseo asks.

"Probably nothing, I'll just stay in and watch TV.. binge watch a few dramas," you respond with a shrug.

Minseo raises an eyebrow. "Really? No plans at all?" She asks.

You shake your head and glance at her. "None, there's not much I want to do."

"How about we go to the amusement park? I know how much you love rollercoasters, we can even invite a few of our other friends." Minseo offers with a bright smile.

You smile softly. "I'd love to."

It was nearing eight at night. You were having a great time, your friends managed to take your mind off of the fact that Youngjae was unable to celebrate your birthday with you. You were currently getting on your last ride, the ferris wheel. Your friends were beginning to pair up.

"I'll ride with Jungwoo," Minseo says.

The four of your friends fall silent at the realization that you'll have to ride by yourself. "Um.. sorry Y/N, we can always get on another ride if you want?" Your friend Haeun apologizes.

You shake your head. "No it's fine! You guys can go ahead and ride, I can stay down here." You say with a small smile.

Your friends apologize again. Minseo smiles brightly at you and sends you a wink. You furrow your eyebrows in confusion at her actions, deciding to ignore her actions. She lifts her phone up and waves it in the air. You raise an eyebrow.

Unbeknowest to you, Youngjae creeps up behind you and wraps his arms around your waist from behind. You jump in surprise, whirling around in his arms. He grins at you as you gasp in surprise.

"Susprise!" He smiles.

You throw your arms around the boy, burying your face into his neck. "I thought you had a show today!"

"I lied," Youngjae chuckles.

You frown and pull away from him. "Why?" You ask.

"I needed to prepare a surprise for you," he smiles. "Come on, let's get in line."

The two of you jump in line for the ferris wheel. Your fingers interlace with Youngjae's, the both of you falling into a comfortable silence. Just being beside Youngjae put you at ease.

As soon as the both of you climb onto the ride, you're off. You clutch Youngjae's hand as he squeezes yours in return. The ferris wheel pauses, the both of you stopping at the very top. At that same moment fireworke begin to explode. You stare up at the night sky in awe, smiling brightly. You tug Youngjae's hand, pointing at the fireworks like a child struck in awe. He laughs and lets go of your hand, capturing your attention. You turn to him in confusion.

Youngjae holds a black box in his hand, he's biting his lip nervously as he opens it and presents the ring to you. "Will you marry me?"

Your stomach flips at the four simple words. Tears well up in your eyes as you cover your mouth in shock. Youngjae stares at you in anticpation, he was anxious. He must have spent all day preparing himself to ask you. You smile and nod, allowing the tears to fall. Youngjae lets out a sigh of relief and closes his eyes. You laugh and nod.

Youngjae removes the ring from the box and grabs your hand, slipping it onto your ring finger. You smile brightly at it and turn to Youngjae with a smile. Youngjae smiles and leans forward, pressing his lips to yours. You smile into the kiss and wrap your arms around his neck. He eventually pulls away with a laugh, his hand taking yours into his. The ferris wheel begins to move again. As soon as the ride ends the both of you exit. Your friends, and Youngjae's members, stand in a huge crowd with balloons and a huge banner. All of them are smiling and cheering as you leave the ride with Youngjae's hand in yours.

"Happy birthday!" They all shout in unsion.

You smile and thank all of them. Jackson immediately bounds over to the two of you, taking your hand in his. He studies the ring with a huge grin. "He finally asked her!" He shouts.

The members of GOT7 surround both you and Youngjae, your friends joining in on the growing circle. They all begin to congradulate you both as you grin, holding Youngjae's hand tightly. You were happy. Happy that Youngjae managed to make this birthday one of the most unforgettable birthday's you would ever have.
