Desamor. Lack of love. Falling in love was easy. It was something a lot of people did without realizing, it was a steady and step by step process that needed no instructions. It was the same thing with falling out of love. Falling out of love was something that you feared in a relationship, something that you never wanted to happen, but it happens without any realization. You never imagined falling out of love. You fell in love with your best friend for crying out loud.

Your love for Taehyun was timeless. You grew up by his side, you loved every single aspect of him, but things changed in time. The feelings of love and support slowly began to fade away. It was the same for him. The mutual feeling of love and understanding fell away, along with trust and loyalty. He cheated on you, then you cheated on him. It was a constant cycle that neither of you could break out of, you were trapped. It was suffocating to say the least. Who knew such a thing could happen when you fell for your best friend? It was a hard decision to finally break it off with him, but how were you supposed to admit that you lost your feelings for him long ago? How were you supposed to tell him that you couldn't even look him in the eyes anymore?

Taehyun sat across from you. Your bags were packed and leaning against the wall beside the front door of your shared apartment. He wasn't looking at you, his eyes were instead trained on the glass of Soju in front of him. You sat with your legs crossed, twiddling with your thumbs nervously. In the past, your heart would have been fluttering in your chest by a simple glance from his eyes. But now it was as if nothing was there. You felt empty. Being in a relationship with Taehyung was both tiring and toxic. You weren't exactly sure what a relationship was any longer.

"I'm leaving." You finally say.

His eyes never lift from the glass in front of him. You study his blank expression, trying your best to see if there were any signs of him caring at all. A minute passes. Five minutes pass. You give up, eventually standing from the table. Taehyung finally looks up at you, his face is stoic. He shows no emotions. In the past this would have rattled you, convinced you to apologize and stay with him for a longer time. But you no longer held any feelings for him.

"Where will you be going?" He asks finally.

"My sisters, in Busan," you respond shortly.

Taehyung never says anything. You walk to the front door after pressing the key to the apartment softly on the table. You pick up your bags after sliding your shoes on. You open the door to the apartment and leave without another word, the door shutting behind you quietly.

Falling out of love was a slow process. You never saw it coming. Your relationship with Taehyung lasted for almost three years, your friendship almost your entire life. Now here you were climbing into your sister's car, slamming the door shut as you buckled yourself in. You stared out the window in silence. It was never your choice to fall out of love, neither was it Taehyung's. It just happened. Of course there was a point where the both of you loved one another dearly, where it was easy to look him in the eye, where you could say "I love you" without feeling as if someone was stabbing you in the chest repeatedly. You didn't know how it happened. Maybe it was from the endless nights of waiting for Taehyung to return home to sleep, or maybe it was from the countless threats and hate thrown at you online, or maybe it was because of Taehyung's profession itself. Or maybe it was just because the two of you just weren't made for each other.

Taehyung was your first and longest relationship. It surprised you that you weren't hurting over the breakup. Maybe it was because you expected it to happen. Your relationship was toxic, constant arguing and cheating. The trust and loyalty was long gone. The both of you were to blame for that, you wouldn't deny it. Moving to Busan meant you could start over. You could learn to love again. You could learn what it was like to have a healthy relationship again. The countless nights you spent crying over how careless Taehyung had become were long gone. You stared out the window, watching as cars and people passed by in a blur living their every day lives. Your sister was shocked when you told her about your situation, she was almost disgusted when you admitted that you had cheated on Taehyung after he cheated on you. You could already imagine the shocked looks on your parents faces when you greet them. Everyone expected the two of you to get married, to start a family and live a happy life. But things didn't work out.

The expectations that were once set for you were long gone as soon as you realized you had fallen out of love. You wondered what Taehyung felt right now. You regretted your choice of a relationship with Taehyung at this point in his life. Maybe the relationship would have lasted longer if the two of you waited, or maybe the two of you would still be great friends had you not confessed to him first. There were so many maybe's and what if's.

You allow yourself to lean your head against the window. Your eyes begin to drop. Your phone buzzes, preventing you from falling asleep right away. You lift the phone and unlock it to read the message.

Taehyung: 모든 것이 끝났지 만, 당신은 예뻤습니다.

The translation: Everything is over, but you were pretty.
I got the idea for this imagine due to being in my feels from both DAY6's "How Can I Say" and "You Were Beautiful" so sorry if it's a bit short and crappy.
