"Why did I let you talk me into this?" You grumble underneath your breath, your gloved hands still clutching onto the ledge in front of you.

Eric skates pass you happily, a grin on his face. You glare at him as he comes to a complete stop in front of you rather easily. "It's easy," he says. "Maybe if you let go of the edge and actually tried, then you would get the hang of it."

You look down at the blades on the bottom of your shoes that dig into the ice, a frown on your face. "You just want me to fall for your amusement, that's why you brought me here." You look up at Eric who laughs and holds out his hand, a twinkle of mischief in them as well as happiness.

"Maybe," he admits slyly. "But I also really wanted to teach you how to ice skate since you said you didn't know how."

"Whatever you say," you sigh, placing your hand in his.

Eric pulls you away from the edge slowly and carefully. You quickly grab his other hand with you free one, afraid that you would fall from being off balance and that you would be dragged across the ice if you fell. You were the worst when it came to balancing. You were normally very careful, but truth be told, you often tripped over your own two feet. Which is why you were very reluctant to enter the skating rink when Eric first brought you here half an hour ago. It took him exactly fifteen minutes to finally convince you onto the ice.

"Think of it as walking, push off of the ice," Eric tries his best to teach you.

You groan as you nearly slip, resting all of your weight against his side. "I give up, let me go back to the edge."

"You haven't even tried it yet," Eric laughs.

You grumble underneath your breath as he continues to teach you how to skate, your lips pursed in concentration. He never lets go of your hand until he finally decides that you're ready to try by yourself. "You can do this," he persuades you. You shake your head and tighten your grasp on his hand, refusing to let go. Eric tries his best to push your hand off. "I promise you'll be fine, just have a little faith in yourself."

"I have none whatsoever," you scoff. "What makes you think I'll be able to skate successfully after a one hour lesson if I still can't even roller skate properly."

Eric rolls his eyes, finally pushing your hands away. He skates backwards a few feet away from you. "You got this, just skate towards me." He says, holding out his hands.

Your arms are spread as you stand on wobbly legs, debating on whether or not this was ever a good idea in the first place. "What if I fall?"

"You won't." He assures you.

"But what if I do?" You ask, looking up at him with apprehension.

"Then I'll catch you," he shrugs as if it were nothing. "Now skate."

You sigh, a cloud of white escaping your lips because of the cold air. You push off of the ice slowly but surely. Everything seems to be going fine until you realize that you still haven't reached Eric. He was skating backwards. You narrow your eyes. "Stay still."

"Just a little more," Eric smiles.

You begin to pick up the pace, Eric grinning as he picks up his own pace. He eventually turns around and begins to skate away from you while chuckling. You groan. "Eric!" You chase him around the rink, not even noticing that you were skating freely. It isn't until he stops ten feet away from you that it hits you. You don't even know how to stop.
