For three years she tried to mend everything, staying loyal to a fiance who worked hard to make ends meet for a wedding they dreamed of. For three years she tried hard enough to be the 'perfect' daughter-in-law, always being the one who went after him after every fight that he started.

In three years, she became the perfect definition of 'the good fiance'.

But she's had enough.

When he came home drunk and bossed her around without giving a damn that it was midnight, she knew that she had had enough. She was too good to be with him anymore. The sound of the engagement ring hitting the kitchen counter played over and over again in her mind.

Angry tears still flowed down, replacing the dried ones the came out earlier, staining her once innocent face. Negative emotions being set aside she felt free for the first time in a while. When was the last she felt like this again?

How odd, a painful event that caused tears and heartbreak somehow looked . . . beautiful on her.

She stopped in front of a bar whose music echoed. The purple LED lights illuminated her face almost blinding her. Gathering all her courage she composed herself and elegantly walked in ready to kill the girl her fiance once 'loved'.

---

''How many girls are going to break yer heart?'' Teased a four-eyed Kansai-ban speaking manipulative basketball player. Imayoshi. He may come off as an insincere bastard -though he really is at times- he still pitied his teammate. The victim of a disease called 'heartbreak' was none other than Kasamatsu Yukio.

Sure the said basketball player was never a romantic or was never bold enough to make the first move, he still tried. He tried very hard. He tried to give the world to the girl he loved when she asked for the moon instead. He bought her what she wanted, anything that she wanted to make her smile. Took her every restaurant on the day he'd receive his salary. He relied on instinct, read almost every article on the internet and depended on his friends' advice.

And yet, he had never felt her love or actual happiness from her.

He was aware that he wasn't the best out there and that was a source of all his insecurities, but he still deserve it.

Maybe if she had told him from the start . . . maybe it would be less painful.

Maybe if she made him realize that they were walking on a tightrope and settled it with a mature conversation, maybe he wouldn't have turned to late night bar trips with his friends. Just like one right now.

But he just had to cheat on him with his boss, ah how tragic! And what added fuel to the fire was when she confessed that she had only used him for his status. For three long years he loved a girl who only used him for his credit cards and name. She nearly got away with it, hiding behind so-called genuine smiles and real laughter.

Okamura raised his hand and patted his back, pulling Kasamatsu out of his thoughts and, well, pissing him off at the same time. ''Let's go drink the night away.'' He announced followed by his obnoxious laugh.

Fury made its way to Kasamatsu's features, scaring everyone (Yes, including the four-eyed Kansai-ban speaking manipulative bastard.) Kasamatsu stopped dead in his tracts, growling a she turned to look at the taller, dumber male. ''How many times do I have to tell you? Do not pat my back!'' He yelled, his voice filling the quiet neighborhood.

He never like it when the Gorilla playing teammate of his 'patted his back'. Though it may mean a friendly tap, his big hands were enough to send anyone in the team to afterlife.

''Let's go to that one,'' Imayoshi pointed to the bar -that resembled so much of a strip club- with a smirk on his face.

His smirk only added more to their fear, a smirking Imayoshi was a demonic Imayoshi.

At least his eyes weren't open.

----

''KASAMATSU-SENPAI?''

''[Y/N]!!''

The two yelled in unison, their voices drowned in the bar's loud music.

'Why would an elegant and composed woman be in a bar? And isn't she engaged?' His eyebrows furrowed in deep thought.

'Doesn't senpai have a girlfriend?'

Questions raced in both their minds, none had the courage to utter the first word. The two of them stared at each other, trying to figure out why they would be in a dreadful place at this hour with asking the other one.

The last time they saw each other was when smiles reached their ears and their eyes held so much happiness. And now here they are, both with pain and hopelessness in their eyes. Has three years gone by that quick?

She cracked a smile with a tilt of her head. ''Wanna catch up, senpai?'' She asked in a tone that she knew flustered him. Oddly the red tint that began to spread all over his face washed away her pain.

Thought the bar's lights made it hard for him to see ehr properly, he knew that she'd been crying. He wanted to know the reason why and the person who dared to make her cry. With one last glance thrown over his shoulder at his friends and turned to her and nodded.

''Let's go somewhere more . . .'' he trailed off.

With a giggle she finished, ''Decent?''

''Yeah,'' and for the first time he actually smiled. A genuine smile was etched all over his features as he followed her out of the bar.

Little did they know both their pains happened for a reason. It was what would bring them together and mend each other's broken hearts before falling in love.
